How to make plants grow faster?

I have tried gardening for the first time in my game due to the posts that I've seen saying that it makes a lot of money. I've learnt how to graft and have made a few dragon fruit plants. However it takes a while for them to grow, I've heard around a few days. Is there a way to make them grow faster without cheating? :)

  • You can fertilized them. Using fish is best. It doesn't really help them produce harvest any faster, but it does help them evolve faster
  • I need an answer to this too. I have 4 blackberry bushes in my game and it's been about a sim week and it's not ready to harvest. I suspect my former butler stole the harvest because I forgot to tell them not to garden.

Thanks! :) Do different fish have more/less effect on the plants?

Same thing happened to me, but with the gardening group! All decided to take some produce for themselves.
  • You can graft slow growing plants to fast growing plants so you can harvest them more often, but you'll get both types of fruit/veg on the plant so not as much of the expensive fruit each harvest as you would if you were growing it separately. Still might be worthwhile if you can harvest it more often.

I read you could graft expensive fruit, like dragon fruit, to trash plants which you can harvest 2 or 3 times a day, but I've never been able to make it work. My sims always resets when I try it and the graft doesn't take. I don't know if its caused by the grafting glitch we have, but it would pay off big time if I could get it to work.

I had that same issue before when trying to make the dragon fruit plant. Whenever I tried to graft the snapdragon to the strawberry bush it would reset. I found out it was because I was taking the snapdragon cutting from another lot rather then my home lot. So I grew some snapdragon on my lot, tried to take the cutting and graft it to the strawberry bush and it worked

I did that too. Now I can graft the dragon fruit to other plants I've grown, but I can't graft them to the fast growing trash plants that I grew specifically for the purpose of grafting expensive fruit to them. I hope it's a glitch and will eventually be fixed, but who knows.

Aw that's annoying, seems to be quite a few glitches surrounding gardening

It seems that the higher the value of the fish, the better it is for the plant. Sturgeon at over 1k simoleons is what I like to use lol. That way I also don't have to pay taxes on it when the bills are due.
