You can graft slow growing plants to fast growing plants so you can harvest them more often, but you'll get both types of fruit/veg on the plant so not as much of the expensive fruit each harvest as you would if you were growing it separately. Still might be worthwhile if you can harvest it more often.
I read you could graft expensive fruit, like dragon fruit, to trash plants which you can harvest 2 or 3 times a day, but I've never been able to make it work. My sims always resets when I try it and the graft doesn't take. I don't know if its caused by the grafting glitch we have, but it would pay off big time if I could get it to work.
