How to mentor?

My Sim is Level 10 in the Guitar skill. I just can't get the mentor option to show up when I see a sim play.
  • You can only mentor sims until they reach a certain level of the skill you're mentoring them in even if you're fully maxed in a skill. This 'causes troubles for the Bodybuilder Career where your daily requirement is to mentor people but finding people to mentor in athletic can be hard since most of the people you run into at the gym have already reached the skill level where it's no longer available to mentor them.
  • Once the skill level has been reached use the mentor skill from the rewards store and you can mentor the higher levels once you reach level 10. Normally you can only mentor skills 1-5 if you are whatever level the mentor skill becomes available, but if you get the reward once you reach level 10 any max skill you have will be able to mentor levels 6-9 I still don't think you can go over your max level though. Also mentor is limited to skill you have maxed, and can't mentor cross age skills unless they are cross age skills.

If the answers given to the OP don't work for you and you think you may have encountered a bug, you can post it on the Sims 4 AHQ

Given that the consensus is that the OP's issue has been answered I'm going to close this off.
  • Everyone here just said stuff we already know.

What they asked was what do you do when you can't get the mentor option to show up, even though you HAVE a lv 10 skill you're trying to pass on.

Seems to me everybody answered the OP's question.

When I do the Bodybuilder aspiration, I form a club with myself and teen Sims (with some fitness skill (but too young to max out the skill). Then I go to the gym and call a club gathering at 4pm (since the teens are done at 3). Once I've finished the aspiration, I disband the club.

You don't understand. It's not about the ability of interpretation, the users have been very didactic about it. The option just doesn't show up! I'm agonizing here! Hahaha maybe it's a bug (another one), but I'm hoping it's not, there's a lot of bugs on the line to be corrected already..
