Your sim can tend the espresso bar. I don't recall if you actually get paid or not. I also don't recall if the Tend option appears on the bar object or on the espresso machine.
Maybe have it be an owned retail lot, and mark some food items for sale? Then either your sim can tend the coffee bar, or hire a barista to do it, but the actual income comes from the food items.
