How to quickly gain toddler skills?

Toddler skills seem to take forever to advance, especially considering I play on normal lifespan for my legacy. Are there lot trait or tips on how to advance toddler skill gain faster?

  • I don't know if there is a specific lot trait for toddlers to help them get skills up faster, but you should try adding in that firstly. To quickly get up the movement skill, I recommend clicking of the toddler and selecting the option for them to run around or wander, and pretty much let them explore the house/yard for a bit. The potty skill is pretty simple. Let the adult teach them for a bit, and then have the toddler go to the potty themselves after they're able to. Avoid having them use their diaper- it's just a waste of precious skill building time and is brings down hygiene. Communication is easy as well, just sit and let the parent and kid chat for a bit. Imagination can come from toys like the dollhouse, but I always read my toddler bedtime stories, and in no time I ended up accidentally maxing out that skill. I used the tablet games and the nesting blocks to max the thinking skill. I sometimes had an adult help, but only when they had free-time. Using these methods, I ended up getting the Top Notch Toddler trait.
  • Easiest way is to get an adult to help! I swear the skills go up faster? maybe i'm imagining it XD
  • Yeah, toddlers learn faster when an adult teaches them (but not sure if this applies to independent ones)

I believe there is a lot trait that is suppose to help children (or toddlers, I can't recall) learn faster. Just read all the descriptions. But I know when you play on normal lifespan, it really still doesn't do much to help. I was literally probably a sim hour away from having my toddler max out all skills when she auto aged up and I was hustling with her skills. I doubt it will happen, but I think they need to adjust the toddler skills. When you play on normal lifespan you pretty much have to chose between a skilled toddler or get to enjoy them being a toddler, it doesn't appear you can have both. I'd like to be able to skill my toddler and still enjoy them, otherwise, why have them?

hopefully this helps. if using cheats is your thing.

im not sure if their are traits, lots, or items to advance them at a faster rate.

Playing a legacy, you can't cheat needs or skills. You have to do what the game allows.

Unfortunately, that also includes not being able to change the lifespan to long until after your toddler is skilled.
