- Karababy52New SpectatorYour Sim doesn't have a household inventory while living in the dorms because they don't own a house so they don't have a 'household.'
This is why storage chests came with the pack. All they can take with them is whatever fits in storage chests they then put in their personal inventory and anything else that fits in their personal inventory. That's it!
However, whatever your Sim got in the mail will most likely actually show up in household inventory when they move out of the dorm and into a real house/apartment. When my Sim graduated with honors, I thought she didn't get her wall plaque/ribbon thingie for it. I was disappointed she didn't get one and thought it was a glitch. But she actually did get one! It showed up in household inventory once she moved out of the dorms and into a house. Perhaps that's what will happen for your Sim too? Just a thought. :) - Yah, I am sure that is correct @Karababy52. I've had many sims go through University and always had the things I received while in a dorm show up once they finally got a real home.
I just made this post because I was questioning the fact that this happens every single time I have a sim in a dorm and thought, well...maybe there's a way to access it that I just never figured out. Seems that isn't the case. I'm just dying to find out what the heck I even got.
BTW, there is one way to access household inventory while living in the dorm. Buy a retail lot. You can then access household inventory when you are at the retail location, even though your sim is staying in a dorm. That's an expensive way to go about it though...
I learned that this works when I had a student start a retail business a few weeks ago. - Karababy52New Spectator@Stormkeep Ah, I see, so you're just looking for a workaround or cheat to see what's in there now. ;) Yeah, unfortunately, like you said, I don't think it's possible. Bummer... :|
- I guess you could save, move your sim out, see what it is and then quit without saving.

That's so devious, sneaky, and cheat-y.
I like it! :D - GalacticGalSeasoned AceI agree. Why even have a mailbox? At least my Sim could license his music from there. But forget ever getting anything in the mail. It's almost there as part of a design I'm thinking. Totally frustrating. Perhaps that's why some of the dormies leave notes around?
- You can use bb.enablefreebuild to enter build mode, but I don’t know if it grants access to the household inventory. Let us know.

The freebuild mode locks out the Household inventory button, making it inaccessible, unfortunately. It does that even if you use it on a regular residential lot.- mightyspritesimsRising HotshotI don't remember there being a household inventory while in uni housing at all? You can only bring with you things that fit in your personal inventory.
