Hunger and eating logics need improvement

It's nothing new, sims in ts4 are the worst when it comes to eating activities. In a household they can cook multiple dishes, even if there already is served food to grab. If you enter a house at 3 AM, you can be pretty sure that minimum 1 household member is (randomly) busy preparing a group meal, if there is a bbq on the lot, he or she will even be grilling the food - in the middle of the night. Nobody in the house will be asleep, instead their energy level will be pretty green, while they all might be about to satisfy their hunger. 3 AM...

It also annoys me how sims can start cooking a new meal *next to* another sim who is already busy preparing a group meal. Don't these sims ever talk, or see what the others are up to? There need to be improved programming/coding for this. It should not be very difficult to program a code line hint to other sims to see if hungry, before they even walk up to the fridge.

I just entered a house to age up a child. I directed mom to cook a cake. While she was busy doing this, the child walked up to the fridge grabbing a single dish. The birthday kid should definitely be a bit interested in that cake being prepared for him. And even if he had no idea that he was about to grow up, he should think that - hey, chocolate cake coming up, yummy!

When cake was done, I moved it to their dining table. Mom lit the birthday candles. This should definitely be a hint to everyone that some cake eating is coming up *very* soon. Not so. Older brother walks outside to grill something (it's Winter, snowing and windy...), and mom who just prepared the cake rushes off to the kitchen to prepare a group meal!!!

This is too messy to even be charming. It can't be happening in just my game? Please improve their hunger satisfying routines!

  • I usually do my rotations around 5 am. I always leave my households with excellent-quality meals leftover in the fridge, & when I return days/weeks/seasons later at 5 am, I'll find most of the sims stacked on top of each other, grabbing plates of food, while one is out at the grill making hotdogs.

I guess I've grown accustomed to herding them; chasing them out of the kitchen at mealtimes barely registers on my annoyance meter anymore, & I hadn't even realized it. What does tick me off is that they don't actually multi-task, so that their hunger keeps going down while they're eating if they're also in a conversation with someone else, even if they're the ones doing the listening, not the talking. You can eat while you listen, simmie! Except no, apparently they can't. That whole multi-tasking thing is fake. Great idea; didn't work. Pity.
  • Do sims even have a basic understanding of “normal” meal times? It doesn’t seem like it to me. I wish that they would at least try to limit their meals to breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. Unless the situation is dire, of course. The way they randomly cook/eat to satisfy their bars is immersion breaking for me.
  • I hate when my sims go to cook something when there's already dishes (that I made another sim in the household make...) in the room.

Speaking of birthday cakes though, one time I had my sim make a cake for her toddler, and for some reason she would not help her toddler blow out the candles, so then her mom blew them out instead (her mom isn't even in my household anymore lol)
