Fear-of-pool deniers conveniently ignore that everyday horrors of the pool 'experience.' Chlorine, overflowing gutters, unnatural shade the cyan, and worst of all stepping on floating soggy bandages...

I've never seen it. Which trait is it linked to?

I'm guessing Island Living, because my IL test sim had a thalassophobia moodlet pop up while visiting the Bluffs. This one mentioned oceans and not swimming pools.
Island Living revamped swimming, so it would make sense. If it's been in the game for longer well I never noticed.

I just got this moodlet on my child sim and I don't have IL. Maybe they added it for the IL patch?

I guess "since Island Living" is more accurate, but yeah it was the patch just before Island Living that revamped swimming.

i've seen something similar in swimming pools in the back of a house on lots i've created and in windenburg's public swimming pool.. sometimes the water can be refreshing to swim in, othertimes it is too cold and the sim turns blue, sometimes they get this complaint about swimming in chlorinated pools, but that isn't the same as saying they have a phobia.

At least no one is watching Jaws or Piranha films and having those thoughts about being eaten alive by a fish in the deep dark ocean just suddenly. Those with thalassophobia, the fear they get from big dark blue oceans with dangers lurking in it is magnified many times over than one gets from nightmares and an aversion to going into deep water thinking they are going to be killed by some hungry fish from a film. ofcourse aquaphobia is different from thalassophobia.

That's really cool! I don't think I've seen a normal trait that's hydrophobic but its awesome (I think it is anyway) that we have a hidden trait like that. :)

Never saw this, but I don't have the IL pack.

I don't have IL either, but if it was patched it I'm assuming I could see it eventually. I'm really curious what trait causes this, since I'd actually rather avoid it. Lol. I've been playing with the same Sim since before IL came out, but she'll have a kid eventually. I googled it but didn't find anything useful.

I've yet to see it. But, it would be good were several of my Sims to develop such a phobia. Instead, they mostly ignore their swimming pool until the weather turns cold, and sometimes downright frigid. Face/palm. Then it's up to me to 'rescue' them by directing them to go inside just to get warm. Face/palm. I guess my Sims secretly hate me and have a 'death wish'. :open_mouth:
