- mikamakimonNew SpectatorI think I've heard a few before. The only one that comes to mind right now is when my sim plays chess he would say "Sequoia......in a bush"....... Nothing to do with chess, but I think it's cute. I've also heard my other sim say "Asin this" when she's seasoning while cooking. Asin means salt in my native tongue. When a fish escapes my fishing sim he mutters something very close to "what's the deal?"...... At least that's how I hear it. I may not be reliable when it comes to sounds though. I tend to hear Yanni more than Laurel!
- alanmichael1Seasoned HotshotFor foreign speakers, Simlish sounds 90 % like American English.
- GalacticGalSeasoned AceI have to follow this up with yet another moment of English-Speaking Sims. The oldest sister, Polly, just had a birthday party to age her up. I went ahead and used the date the game arbitrarily gave her and had her parent set up the Event. Well, Dad decides his daughter needs a gift on her birthday, so he takes her out to their patio and in front of the table that bears what's left of said birthday cake, he presents her with the gift. It was a photo of a bouquet of flowers he'd crafted. "Ooh, thank you!" That's what it sounded like she said. Either that, or I've been playing way too much! Starting to understand Simlish. :open_mouth:

This time around, I would agree with you on this. Other iterations, not so much. - Joanne_SnowRising Traveler

Took me a moment to realize what this comment meant. I heard Yanni, myself. - I swear I heard.. "you jokin?" I play with headphones and I heard it while I was playing a few rooms away. I legit thought there was another woman in my house the first time I heard it. Freaked me out a bit.
- SimberellaNew SpectatorWhen my sim was building a rocket ship, every time he was struggling to tighten a certain bolt, it sounded like he was saying, "That is not how it's done!"
- Karababy52New SpectatorI've heard "Ooo, dis is good!" in reference to food, a painting or a movie they like. They say, "Meckchate" (instead of checkmate) when winning at chess. Not exactly English, but close enough. Toddlers say, "Noooo!" a lot. Once I swear my Sim said, "My love" while stroking his wife's cheek. Probably my imagination, but meh... I've heard other English words, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. :)
- I was playing the last night and lilith was tense and she yelled "Ah! I'm Okay!" Or that's what I heard.
- It sounds like Sim kids call for 'mommy' when the monster under the bed wakes them, but many languages have a word with 'm' because it's an easy sound for babies to make. I've also heard them say something similar to 'daddy' in the same situation.
I could swear that Sims 3 toddlers would say, 'Don' wanna' when they refused to do something. It's become one of my favourite expressions when I'm feeling mulish.
