My household consists of my sim Ricky, his new girlfriend Kira, Ricky's kids from previous relationships Brandon and Christine, and Ricky's sister Holly. I was going to move in Holly's boyfriend into the fold and Ricky and Kira would probably have another kid...eventually. However Ricky and Kira woohoo ONCE and she became pregnant with triplets. I use MCCC mod have have the setting of getting pregnant on regular woohoo at 5%. Well it took. (Just turned that back to 1%). I was curious why Kira was throwing up so much....I'm like, she can't be pregnant! I was wrong. Saw the stats (thanks to the "show info" mod) and lo and behold...she is pregnant with triplets...2 girls and 1 boy. I'm usually a player that takes things as they come with death and pregnancies because that's how life is. Christine was an "accident" but still played along. But these triplets would max out my house and I didn't want to deal with that many kids. So thanks to MCCC mod, I canceled her pregnancy.
Why do I feel guilty? lol
I've done this before and felt guilty too. My main couple (in my profile picture) is my favorite household. I have been playing them for a while now. I was in progress of having them legitimately save up for a nice place (I made a thread about it awhile ago)
Anyway, at one point while they were in their crappy apartment, only level 2 or 3 in each of their careers, and with very little money--I temporarily got bored of the grinding and I decided I wanted something new in their lives. So I foolishly had them try for a baby. She got to the 1st trimester, and I suddenly had a change of heart about them starting their family so soon. My main excuse was that their place was sooOo small (the one bedroom TLC apartment in the Art District. :/ ) and they didn't have enough for even a 20k starter home. I cancelled her pregnancy. I returned to my original plan and had them focus on their careers and on their experiences exploring what the new CL expansion had to offer together.
They were newly weds then, and very early in the young adult stage. Now they're adults, completed a couple aspirations together, just renewed their vows, level 8+ in their careers, with a beautiful home and a comfortable amount of money in their savings. Significantly more prepared for a child now. Even as the player, by just having that time playing the couple for awhile, I feel more invested in the couple to actually care about playing the progression of their future child.
What's even better is the announcement for the upcoming Family GP too. I'm going to wait for that before having them start a family. That way I have the opportunity to really feel more invested in the family.
