@CrazyboutTheSims You can still delete and customize any and all holidays. The events from GF aren't active unless you choose to go to them, so you shouldn't be getting an awful event moodlet if you chose NOT to go to the events.

If you aren't able to delete the actual holidays, something is wrong on your end.

I've deleted all the holidays and added a day of cleansing to clean up decorations around town, but it doesn't work. It really ruins the look of things for me! My spa has thanksgiving day banners AND christmas lights. :s

And I agree. I don't use the calendar at all for anything so it should be optional.

@fullspiral, I've seen others here saying they have the same problem with decorations on community lots. Not a global glitch though, the decorations come down in my game within a few days of each holiday. Those lights don't look the right color to be winterfest lights, btw...you sure they aren't harvest lights (each holiday has a specific color scheme for lights. Winterfest is green and red. Those look more like fall colors to me.).

I quite liked the calendar at first, but I'm finding the game events a bit tedious.
I've found it good though for planning weddings in advance. Could also work on hens and bucks nights, baby showers etc etc.

@Stormkeep I've no idea! I can't figure it out since I don't decorate anywhere. The game just does it by itself even though I deleted all the holidays now. I tried to put a deco box on the lot but it wouldn't let me do anything because I don't own the lot!

I suppose I could go around to every commercial lot I have, make them residential, and send a sim around to remove everything? It just looks awful.

@fullspiral I think you just don't like that holidays use lights even when they aren't christmas.. lol
there's a mod that lets the deco box work on any lot, even ones you don't own. I don't remember where I saw it though. Sorry!

Sounds more like a glitch as you shouldn't get any awful holiday noodles and the only events that appear on GF are the talent show and accolade awards which you can just ignore as there is no check list.

With season holidays I add no decorations to the holiday and they don't show up on neighbor homes.

I just don't think they should be all over commercial lots like they are. Especially if you have a sunken nightclub or something and the entire foundation inside is covered in it lol. I don't like the banners, flags, lights on anything. It looks cheesy at some establishments.

Yep, I agree wholeheartedly, @fullspiral.

Even without deleting holidays, just select "none" for decoration option in the drop down in the top right. That stops all decorations around town. Or it should, if your game is working properly. I have it set to that for most holidays, except Winterfest, Harvestfest, and Spooky Day. I like having the town decorate for those.

Honestly, having holidays on the calendar set with no decoration options might help get rid of the ones that are up in your game. Worth a shot. When the holiday gets close, everyone should undecorate for it.
