My sim was using the toilet and the next thing I see is the fire notification. As it turns out, the toilet caught fire!. I have never seen this before in my game.Has this happened to anyone else?.

It did when i put a eco upgrade in, it says something about if it isn't emptied then it can cause spontaneous combustion- and yep my toilet caught fire and killed my sims.

If you have an insect farm you should be able to get an option to collect the compost from the toilet and feed it to the bugs. Compost overload will set the jacks on fire. :D And -unfortunately-your sim.

Hi @Nh6650 I think it's a bug that was reportedly resolved from the Eco living patch if you own that pack? If you have a 'Compost" toilet, I believe it can catch fire. I don't think that one is a bug. :D If its the bug causing it, I don't think you get the notification that it's on fire :)

"WARNING" unexpected combustion while peeing
or "WARNING" Toilet may unexpectedly burst into flames when in use

@SPARKY1922 Composting toilets aren't something just thought up by game developers. They exist in real life and some of them are pretty decent. I've never seen one with a fire warning in real life though and I've never been concerned about getting burned while using one.

They are commonly used in Tiny Homes as they don't require the extensive amount of plumbing that regular toilets do :D

When we said we wanted more danger in the sims I doubt most of us wanted a life or death situation every time our sims went to the bathroom. :D

Thanks for the heads up re toilets in Tiny homes defo going to avoid that then as is just not my cup of tea either :)

Thanks for the links. It seems to be related to the compost upgrade of the toilet which my sim had performed.
I have the pack and the patch installed.
