Ideas for retail stores

Haha actually i'm not specifically refering to Tiny Living but more about 2018-2019 packs...
I also wish so much that sometime we can be able to run a store from home. It makes all sense and i would def play much more with retail if so.

I have several stores that I accumulated over time:

Men's Clothing & Women's clothing Stores - Mainly I switch to the clothing, Grooming Essentials, and accessories, I actually liked from the pack. or dress the mannequins in something I had anticipated for a specific sim, for a specific event coming up.
A Furniture & Decor Store - It's like going to any furniture store, through out the store are different show rooms, of Furniture sets from each pack... At least, the buy content, from the packs I liked.
Electronics, Appliance & Hobbies Store.
Patio & Gardening Store.

So the last pack I bought was Realm of Magic, Realm of magic I'm not really a fan of many of the Clothing Content, or the Buy content So I didn't make space for them in any of my stores... but! I do have a Mage that opened his own enchantment tower and deals magic.

Can't you just buy out existing properties?

You can buy or build a retail store. But i was asking about ideas for the store itself, like what would you sell there: for instance, a bookstore that is also a bakery...

Whenever I play the game, I always get an idea to construct a bakery or electronic store, but never get around to it because I become too involved with my family play... I think my next go around will include a retail experience because I still haven't used that feature yet, despite always wanting to! lol

'Open For Business' was my second favorite expansion pack for Sims 2... so it's pretty ironic how I haven't used the retail feature in Sims 4 yet! lol

It would be easier if the we could run a retail store at home. I wish someday this is implemented.

My archeologist family, which has like 4 archeologists, runs a shop that sells artifacts. I am using a mod that makes archeology activities available for club activities. The shop has multiple archaeology workbenches for club gathering where they uncover artifacts and sell them right away. I never restock items because my family is saving up for a new mansion plus some items found in the Selvadorada temple are extremely expensive, e.g. the golden plate and golden frog. My retail shop is pretty big, so I have bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen in the shop. This allows my sims to live there.

I wonder if you can sell bee boxes and honey ^^ ?

I hope it gets an overhaul, I want to use it. I want there to be other options for my sims to make money and have careers, but it's so lacking it feels pointless, to me at least. Let us own spas, let us owning a restaurant or a "bakery" a "clothing store" actually mean something. Let owning a Vet actually make our sims Veterinarians. Being an independent owner adds new story and gameplay elements for us. Not this what feels like an incomplete shell that's in the game.
