- LatinaBunny6 years agoNew SpectatorNo, never used hotels much in previous games.
Mermaids are the deal maker / breaker for me. (And whether we can live on the island). "Cynna;c-17095006" wrote:
A resort system means that something else will be cut out of the game
However, neither supposition is true.
For example, in TS3, it was possible to have water sports in any coastal world. There was swimming, snorkeling, houseboats, sailboats, rowboats, paddle boats, water skiing, wind sailing, and jet skis.
What? Of course that is true. There is always a compromise. Resources are not infinite. Anytime something is added it means something else wont be added.
We might not know what was compromised on in TS3 because we only see the final product, but no matter how much stuff is in any game (regardless of what series its from) there is always compromises. There are always features that will be overlooked or skipped in favor of other features
Thats why I dont understand the mindset that hotels are simply being left out. Its not that theyre being left out its more like the resources that would have went into them have gone elsewhere. What im waiting to see is where theyve gone.- It'll be a disappointment, but not a dealbreaker.
- DoloresGrey6 years agoSeasoned NewcomerI mean I'd love to have them but no it's not really a deal breaker for me.
- I can't see it as a deal breaker cause I don't even know what the next pack is about. I would like a return of hotels but I'm not particularly too fussed on owning and managing one, I just want relaxing places for holidays.
- Not a deal breaker but a bit of a dissapointment. If not incorporated here I'd rather they get a game pack similar to Dine Out but I feel that just makes the list of potential game packs too large and less feasible. Right now most simmers are expecting pretty much every supernatural to get a game pack, a farming game pack is in high demand, and I could see a Showtime like/ band or music game pack coming in the future. Some are even saying Uni could be a game pack.

I guess EA groomed TS4 simmers well by now to have low expectations and make excuses for the cuts, so I guess it's okay to not have hotel building and management in this EP. That's sad. I hope this doesn't carry into TS5, but they already have a whole section of simmers trained for this mentality. Smh....
This is another reasons why I won't play TS4. It's the mentality you go into it - you're so starved for content that you'll settle for whatever they give you even when something major gets cut out!
I have high expectations for high quality and good content and what is released is always high quality and good content.
Then again, I don't have the mentality of spending my time on a game's forum which I don't play. I don't feel like whining when they cut S3 out of S4. It's best like this anyway.- I dont care if you buy the pack or not. But most of the stuff you mentioned is also included in this pack. Mermaids, Sunburn, Jet Skis, boats, Ocean Swimming, Diving/Snorkeling. Lifeguards and there will be so many new build buy objects. Plus things i cant recall right now.
99 percent of the responses ive seen on twitter and small over social media has been overjoyed and happy. Because Island living looks like a great pack @Cynna - If it's a trade off between hotels and varied activities, an in-depth lifestate, and ocean swimming, then I'd leave off hotels. Not that they wouldn't be awesome to have, but considering there are work arounds/mods that could be used to replace hotels, I think it's okay. Besides, we don't have all the information yet. We could still get them. But yeah, definitely not a deal breaker.
- Bonxie_MCCC6 years agoSeasoned VeteranNo, to me Hotels are definetly not important. What I've seen so far it looks good the way it is. Since "Island Paradise" was one of my favourite packs in S3, I guess I will buy this pack too.
