- You may also want to check out Carl's Sims 4 guide. He has guides for all the packs.
https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/ - I own all the EPs and all the non-occult GPs. If I could only choose one of each of them, I'd pick City Living and Parenthood. I've gotten more than my money's worth out of both packs.
As for stuff packs, I'm partial to Bowling Night Stuff, but I wouldn't consider any one of those packs essential to someone on a limited budget to expand their basegame. - Kyr0e4 years agoSeasoned AceIt I had nothing else in the game, then I'd just get Seasons. It's not my favorite pack, but that's because when I got it (and to this day) it felt like they just ripped out a huge chuck of the game and sold it separately. If the basegame is the skeleton and organs, Seasons is the rest of the bodily makeup and function, as well as the clothing.

That's an interesting way of putting it. :) - paigeisin54 years agoSeasoned AceSeasons then Get Together then Parenthood. But Seasons added the most to my enjoyment of the game. Get Together adds the club system which helps with my Sims staying in touch with friends and family. And Parenthood adds a new dimension to playing with families. Seasons was a huge game changer because of the calendar, weather and seasonal activities.
- EnchantedOatmeal4 years agoSeasoned VeteranHad to do some serious thinking about this. I was reading a lot of other comments and I noticed not many directed their answers towards play style so I'll answer that way:
All around amazing--Get Together (mainly just those plain white columns... I literally can't live without them)
Rags to Riches--City Living (Build mode is decent here as well)
Building (Modern)--Eco Lifestyle (Second best build mode overall)
Building (Suburban)--Cats and Dogs
Building (Country)--Cottage Living
Building (Medieval)--Get Together
Legacies/Rotational--Seasons (Build mode is great but the couch is weird)
Super Sim--Discover University (CAS is good, build mode is ok-ish)
Social Sim--Get Together (Seriously, clubs are sooooo underrated)
Family Sim--Parenthood (I know it isn't an EP, but it compares pretty well and buildmode is legit amazing)
Occult--Island Living (build mode is kinda trash in my opinion though but the world is pretty)
Challenge--Eco Lifestyle (Also, the neighborhood action plans can totally spice up any vanilla gameplay)
Farming/Gardening--Cottage Living - Hermitgirl4 years agoSeasoned AceI've wanted farming in the game since it released so now it would be Cottage Living... Usually I pick Get to Work because I like to play out mad scientists lives but maybe I've had my fill for awhile.
- Seasons.
I really struggled to play before i had seasons in my game because everything just felt so static and barbie utopia
so if its just one ep I will always have to mention it first cause it just makes everything more enjoyable to play with for me - This is a tough one. But I think I would have to go with seasons. Even though I have my qualms with it. I think my biggest and probably only issue would be how easy they made gardening and I miss being able to harvest 10 pieces of whatever from each plant. But seasons for me overall was a positive game changer.
