- ChampandGirlie4 years agoSeasoned AceI agree that Del Sol Valley needs more including a beach residential area, more starter homes and a middle class. I've fixed the house without the toilets but yes there were some weird design choices. A lot of houses were released really empty which is something I can fix but some of them have weird uses of space. I would actually have more mansions as well. I'm playing with more actors and notice this.
I actually think we could get more beachy worlds generally. I like the Polynesian theme but beach worlds are really popular in multiple places.
StrangerVille should have a few more lots including the ability to edit the downtown at least when you are done with the main story. - elliebreton4 years agoLegendI would add more Lots to Glimmerbrook, but make it bigger so that they don't look crowded. I really like the world because it's quite remote and foresty, but it's way too small.
I don't much like Del Sol Valley, I thought about picking that one to redesign but I would probably just ditch it altogether.
I love people's ideas for Magnolia Promenade - having access to the GTW career lots through there would be fab! - keekee534 years agoSeasoned AceI have to go with Sixam because my sim worked so hard to get there and there was NOTHING THERE!!!! I would love to make a real alien world with things to do.
Del Sol Valley is a close second because yeah well 3 lots in hills is just not working. I felt like there should have been beach lots as well.
Strangerville comes in third not because anything is wrong with it. I just LOVE THE look of that world so I would want to add more lots. - Newcrest! I love the lot sizes etc. but it's flat flat flat.
- San Myshuno for me.
I would make apartments more like TS2 apartment life where you can build your own. I'd get rid of the shells and make real neighborhoods with Streets lined with Brownstones, some as apartments, some as whole houses. I'd make it so the highrises acted as retail or businesses on the bottom and apartments/condos on top with way more than 2-4. There should be like at least 20 different living spaces in them. I'd make a big central park area that connects all the different neighborhoods so you can see all of them in the distance when you're there. This area would be off lot and visit-able from any lot in all of San Myshuno. It would have an area near the spice district for food and flea market with basketball hoops and soccer fields, near the art district it would have free dancing classes in the park, murals and places to make your own, free pottery classes, knitting, etc. Near the high rises it would have nice diners and maybe a lake with boat rides. Carriage rides. Wedding venues. Tennis courts. And near the one where the karaoke place is, I'd make it so there is theater in the park or a soundstage where performers come once in a while or where sims put on dancing shows.
I definitely think San Myshuno could have been like an actual city. What we got is just...no. "GrumpyGlowfish;c-17926191" wrote:
Even though I have found a purpose for Magnolia Promenade in the meantime, if I could go back in time and tell the developers to change one world, I would tell them to scrap Magnolia Promenade altogether and replace it with a bigger Sixam world that sims can actually live in, with a few premade shops and premade alien families.
Second would be Del Sol Valley, to me the most illogical world in the entire game so far. The world itself is too small for what it represents, whereas the lots in Mirage Park are weirdly oversized considering that it's supposed to be the "normal" neighbourhood for less rich people, and there's little to do in the neighbourhoods in general with too many fake houses and streets that sims can't even walk on. Oh, and the premade houses are arguably the ugliest we've had in any pack so far, but that at least can be changed, thankfully.
Magnolia Promenade was designed with the retail aspect of GTW in mind. Where else were people going to put stores, especially at that point we only had 3 worlds? Well, I guess we had Newcrest where you could add some shops.
I've turned that large lot in Mirage Park (Del Sol Valley) into a park where kids/families can gather. I also moved Judith Ward into a San Myshuno apartment and built my Arts and Science Center there. Still working on getting the rocket I have there fully upgraded though.- GrumpyGlowfish4 years agoSeasoned Ace

As I said in that same post, they could have been in the alien world, too. Maybe a premade shop for exclusive alien fashion and crystals and stuff that would be hard to come by otherwise. Would have been a great opportunity to not only combine the retail aspect with the aliens that came in the same pack (because the only thing loosely tying them together now is the scientist career), but also to give you an incentive to actually visit those shops, because you'd be able to buy things there that you can't just get from Build Mode or CAS.
Of course you're right about the limited space thing, and not everybody would want the only premade stores to be in the alien world, if they had already filled all the base game worlds with other lots. But from today's perspective, I find Magnolia Promenade pretty useless as it is, and all my shops are in other worlds. - RememberJoy4 years agoSeasoned AceDel Sol Valley: It could use one more neighborhood by the ocean and maybe one more lot in each neighborhood.
Glimmerbrook: I'd like to get rid of the driveways and make that neighborhood more rustic, I'm fine with it's smaller size (I also like the size of Forgotten Hollow and wouldn't change it either).
Evergreen Harbor: I'm fine with a little set dressing, but the two house neighborhoods just have a little too much of it and feel kind of lifeless.
Magnolia Promenade: I never use it but I'm not really sure what I would change other than the thumbnail, as it looks too much like the Windenburg one and I'm always accidentally hitting it. - BK7474 years agoNew VeteranI generally like all the worlds, but I think Del Sol Valley is one that most simmers can agree missed the mark on a few key points. I think they were on the right track, but just didn’t quite follow through to its potential, and a couple minor changes would have made a world of difference.
I love the aesthetic of Mirage Park, but to echo others, the lots are too big. It feels like a perfect starter neighborhood - the surrounding environment is A+ in my mind, but the lot sizes don’t work for that type of game play. If we’d been given 5 or 6 small lots instead or maybe an apartment (see more thoughts below), I think we would have been on the right track.
The lack of beachfront properties is a major missed opportunity. They are literally in the map artwork on the left side, but they didn’t give us any lots there. We needed Malibu inspired beach homes to really complete this “California” world - it would have also provided a middle ground between the starter and “end game” neighborhoods in the world.
A few apartments would have been great too. At the time they were exclusive to CL, but now that we’ve seen them added to Evergreen Harbour, it seems a shame they weren’t also added to Del Sol Valley. I feel like run-down apartments are quintessential to the struggling actor aesthetic and having some luxury condos to move into when one first makes it big would have rounded out the “Get Famous” experience.
It is not that the world is bad… I just don’t think it was fully thought-through and that the limited size of more recent EP worlds really stifled its potential and leaves it lacking for more. - elizabethjane8184 years agoSeasoned AceMagnolia is just so ugly. Even the moving icon is ugly. I never know what to do with the area.
