Way ive maintained interest been first no cheats of any kind and going tru most of the packs as they come, i also tend to focus on milestones collectibles and such to keep me entertain since i don't use cheats, alot of work goes into making my Sims efficient at certain thing's.
Have to try making a legacy with each generation focused in one pack. - I've done a kind of generational thing with collections. Each generation keeps the generations before collections and adds a new collection, so by the time I reach my usual 10 generations they should have the same number of full collections. I then start the legacy again with the 10th heir and carry over the new collections. By the time I've done 27 generations or 2.7 legacies they should have the full lot.
Also all of my joint heirs have to be twin/triplet/quadruplet girls - I may or may not cheat this bit :) :D - I'm currently writing a new version of a legacy challenge and playing it through to check that all of my rules work as intended.
- I play other games. Sooner or later some aspect will pop up that makes me think "I want to play this out in the Sims!". Maybe a favourite pairing that I want to continue or a profession that would be neat to play or just a building that I want my sims to live in (if it's in the gallery, I hardly ever build myself).
If it's not the sims, but specifically Sims 4 that I'm tired of, I simply go back to Sims 2 for a while. - I remade the sims from the previous games in a save file and it made me want to play them all rotationally. This is my main reasoning for playing between content. But I play other games as well, it inevitably gets repetitive

For about the past year and a half, I have been updating every lot and giving every single sim in my game save the correct winter and summer outfits, and a makeover to boot. But now when I attempt to play, normal gameplay that is, I just don't know what to do. I have everything up to the current pack, Strangerville. I'll start up the game, go into CAS to create a sim, then nothing. What did you do to develop an interest in the game again?
I started PLAYING instead of building. Now I'm doing both. - Sometimes I don't know where I want the story to go yet so I build something.
- Sometimes I watch Youtube Game Plays to get ideas. I also look up different challenges. The best thing for me though (and this might sound unhelpful, apologies) is taking a break. If I get bored, I take a few months off playing and then I start t crave playing again and I usually come back with new ideas.
- JestTru7 years agoSeasoned AceNew content that interests me.
- I lose interest in every game for a while but always come back. Usually just take some time off and eventually I'll feel like playing again. Sometimes I just play a different aspect of the game if I'm only kind of bored - like building instead of playing.
