Interracial couple kids only have tanned white skin colors after Dec patch.

I kind of understand how this happens with the new system (aka it picks a color between the color of each parent) because when I went to make a new interracial couple in CAS (after the new patch) with kids using their genetics - theiir children all looked like white tanned kids.

After trying like 100 tests in CAS by moving the sliders to the extreme for the black parent - no matter how dark even using sliders their offspring 90% of the time appeared like tanned white kids.

At worst they have very unrealistic skintones. A few kids had this weird grey reddish skin tone (which made no sense). Sometimes I could generate a darker skin tone but it always appeared "washed out".

It would be nice if the new system didn't simply pick a color in the middle and rather picked a color closer to one parents as the dominant skin color (as in real life). Its minor but its kind of annoying....I feel like I'm going to have to use cheats to make any of their children they have in-game more realistically toned rather than what the game is generating.
  • I don't know anything specific about the code, but from my own experience (out of date though it is) with programming, I'm guessing that a number somewhere is getting truncated or otherwise not calculated incorrectly, and this is the source of the problem.

I mean, IRL, skin color is among the more complicated traits when it comes to genetics because it can be anywhere on the spectrum from the lightest inherited gene to the darkest, so I can see where it's less a case of lack of knowledge as a typo in the coding.
