Is Sims 4 Spa Day worth it?

As everyone else has said: depends on your playstyle. For me it's one of my main packs, almost every household has a yoga mat, the very least. I love visiting the spa with them, feels like a relaxing luxurious fun thing to do, like a mini holiday without having to take a day off. I'm also really really happy about the sauna (I'm a Finn, we have to have saunas). The various baths with soaks are awesome, too, 'n the massages, 'n the wellness skill, and the teleporting and and and... :)

I would personally say yes. Even though it is more niche and not as useful in day to day game play I absolutely love it. But I also absolutely love the waterslides and bowling from other packs. Something about it is so entertaining to me.

I've used quite a number of items from Spa day, so even if you don't take your sims to the spa you still have the option to get a spa treatment at home using mud baths and soaks in your own bath tub, meditation and yoga.

The decor is very nice and I use a lot of them in sims homes. Got soap dishes, a tray to make drinks, nice cabinets and counters, end tables, coffee tables, wall toilets (good on community lots and public areas), fancy fish tanks, wall lights, potted plants, wall fountains in different sizes, incense burner, candles, a more modern small stereo, new stairs, wall paper and flooring, windows and door, etc. Has a nice sleek look and modern feel to them.

Then you have more new fitness related clothing in CAS for men and women.

I take my sims to the spa maybe like once every sim week or so at best, least for my sims that are workaholics. Any families I tend to use the spa stuff at home. Can really snazz up any bathroom with these.

The pack being worth your money would entirely depend on your play style and what you might like. Personally, I like it and I think I got my money's worth out of the pack. I use much of the items and I do have a yoga studio in all of my saves. I've edited the Builders and Burner's gym to have a masseuse and the steam spa. Most of my played families utilize the yoga and meditation items and I use much of the build buy items as well. I paid full price for it and don't regret it. If it's on sale for a good price and you have the extra money, I say "Why not"?

If Spa Day is on sale, get it. The CAS clothing items and the wall coverings and floorings are really nice. The yoga mat and meditation stool are portable, too.

it gives very nice and modern flooring and wall options. big tiles, wooden pannels. i love yoga and meditaion activities. you do not really have to build or place spa, you can add massage tables/chairs, saunas or yoga mats on regular gym lots.

also, you don't have to put the saunas or yoga stuff in just spas and gyms (though i have turned the city living gym into a spa with some workout equipment still, and the get to work gym has also has a sauna and yoga classes in my game). the willow creek park has yoga classes taught beneath the oak trees near the fishing pond, and there are a few meditation stools set up nearby. works like a charm and seems quite pleasant, too.

as for the wellness skill itself, quite a few of my sims have it. some specifically to unlock the superfruit salad you can learn from it (though they mostly seem to shy away from the cake you also learn), but mostly for the non-vampires, it's used as a way to travel vast distances in a short time. at max skill, your sim learns to teleport. they can teleport anywhere on the lot they're in (including all the outside stuff you can visit from it without a loading screen, whether it's the fishing areas outside willow creek's starter neighborhood or the food stalls in san myshuno). and, if i recall, they can even use it to teleport to the hidden lots in willow creek and oasis springs if they've visited them before (i remember putting meditation stools in both locations for that, but it's been a long, long while since i had sims try to go there this way)

LOL I never even thought to use an aquarium for vampire snacks. Awesome idea. I forgot they can turn fish and frogs into plasma packs..lol

I think Spa Day is very underrated for a game pack compared to its successors. If you're not willing to spend your life at spas, then you'll find that you'll barely visit them like I do, but I still do enjoy the spa aspect and for builders who want to build functioning spas, and that there's even a spa venue to even place down at all. Plus, a new death type was added with the saunas, and people constantly complain about more ways to kill off their Sims so there's that.

I love the CAS and BB items that came with it, it adds a sort of sleek fit kind of feel combined with postmodern furnishings. I'm guilty of not using some of the BB items enough though, bc it is a very specific style that doesn't work in every house. The CAS items can work well with almost anyone who wears them.

The Wellness skill is actually particularly useful the higher you achieve in the skill. Not only do you sometimes will randomly increase a certain skill, or repair broken relationships, etc while meditating, you can even begin to teleport to whichever spot at will with it (and not the cheaty way of teleporting either). Also going back on the spa objects and features, you'd be surprised how long some of those moodlets can last if you get the correct treatments and such for your aches and pains, up to 8 hrs if you want to be fully in the right mood for the whole workday.

All in all, it's all in how you would want to play your Sims with this game pack. I find it very useful for what I need it for most of the time, but also understand why it's underrated compared to the other game packs succeeding it.

I'll second what a lot of people said - nice build/buy items but I often forget about actual spas and my Sims rarely do anything with the meditation skill but I do order a masseuse every once in a while if a Sim is really tense. I think worth it - especially if it's on sale as someone said. I wish they'd put stuff packs on sale. I only have three. There are a couple of others I think I would get if Origin would knock off a couple of bucks.

Ditto here -- the Build textures are beautiful with a lot of wood and stone. I also love the water features; very calming and peaceful. The bath soaks are great for my Sims; I use the muscle relaxing soak when my Sims get sore muscles from working out and it helps clear up the moodlet faster. The CAS is really nice; I even use the towel head wrap for my female Sims as part of their sleepwear especially if they have long hair. (I hope we get sleepcaps in Seasons.) And when I play elder Sims I usually have them get into yoga/meditation if they haven't done so earlier in life, so they have something to do while waiting for Grimmy to show up. It's a great pack even at full price; at $15 US it's an absolute steal.
