Is there any way to slow down the time in the game, but nothing else?

Time is going just way too fast, so fast, before my sim realizes it the day is over. Now my sim is a vampire, so she doesn't need to sleep, and the day still goes by to fast. She's a pretty busy woman, and she has a lot she would love to get done. Is there any way to slow down the time, to make it longer?

  • It would quite interesting having your Sim Day correspond with your own. For trying it the other way around, there are some pretty entertaining "I Lived 24 Hours Like My Sim" vids on YT if you're curious. On the last one I watched Kelsey Impicciche spent about 3/4 of her waking hours on the computer. Same. :D
  • Not only does MCCC have the ability to slow down time (just make sure you do it in intervals of 25 or problems could crop up), but Little Ms Sam has some mods that speed up things like showering and working out.

    I wanted to try this, but my daily life involves taking care of my four-year-old daughter and I'm pretty sure that my sim self would have CPS on me so this is one challenge I'm going to have to pass on haha!

    Imagine just sitting around for 45 min or an hour watching them eat though. Excruciatingly boring. It would be more fun if the time they take to perform certain tasks would correspond more to real-time as well.

    At your sim's computer: MC Command Centre -> MCCC Settings -> Gameplay Settings -> Game Time Speed

    Do you have to update this? I don't play with cc or mods. Thanks for info and thanks OP for asking
  • Yes, MC Command Center has to be periodically updated when they update or you get error messages galore. That's why I took a break for a long while when we had so many new patches back to back.
  • MC Command Centre is quite probably the best supported mod for Sims 4. Deaderpool updates exceptionally quickly after any patches or produces a status report as to compatibility. MCCC also has its own Discord channel (see this thread for details) and everyone associated with it are the most helpful guys on the planet :smiley:

    I also use MCCC
    I believed 1 sim day by default was shorter than at real (I believed it as about 18 minutes)
    Doing calculations at Excel with some formulas where 1000 is real time, say than the default 25 makes 1 sim day = 36 minutes
    Anyway for me is few, then use higher values

    I know it is a 2 years old thread, but I found some interesting values then:
    42 = 1 hour
    63 = 1h30m (in fact 90.72 minutes)
    84 = 2 hours
  • The problem is not that the time goes fast. The problem is that sims take too much time to do some things. For example, almost 2 hours to cook and eat a sandwich... or half an hour to take a fast shower... or whatever. The game isnt realistic, period. I think the time speed is just right, because its a game, but what i dont get it is why it takes so long to do some things that in real life, wont take more than a few minutes.

    Unlike the very first mod than change speed (about 2016-2017) MC Command Center option only slow the time, no the sims, then if make days longer, sims take less in-game time to complete actions

    But also there are mods for faster actions.... but the ones I saw are per action, example Faster eating and drinking or Faster homework
