Isn't it possible now to have social events on Generic lots?

The new patch (the one from 7. nov) was supposed to enable generic lots for various social gatherings like weddings, b-day parties, etc and I downloaded a church that is designated as a generic lot an...

I tried this and it didn't help. The lot in question used to be a park. It's not from the gallery, I built it myself earlier this year.
After the Nov patch I zoned the lot generic, but it didn't show up in the list of venues allowed for a wedding.
Then I tried your suggestion: zoning as a park again, exit build mode, go back in, re-zone generic. It still didn't show up.
