Its hard to play without cheats to pay the heat bill

Is there anyway EA will make a patch to lower the heat bill?
I dont like using many cheats. But its nearly impossible with the heat bill and even with my sims at the top of tge employment latter.

  • You also don't need to run the thermostat the whole time either. Just on the super cold/warm days. Also, get a hobby like flower arranging or painting for extra, easy income, and sell the stuff you make at a store or with that CL table if you have it, for a mark up, lol. There's that trait you can buy with the whim points or whatever that makes bills smaller too.
  • I just move to Oasis Springs. I prefer that town anyway.
And then I give my Sims weather preference "HOT" and give them the heat resistant trait...

I use the auto pay feature to pay bills. The money generally comes out of the household funds about 5 am every Monday. My Sims tend to be early risers (they are up around 4 am), so I just turn the thermostat off. Sometimes there is an option to make the bills even cheaper - say it's Winter, so obviously the heat is turned on, so in that instance, the option would be to turn the heat on "makes bills cheaper". I've had bills as low as $450 with a family of four. When the thermostat is turned off, the bills are around $3500.

Is there an auto pay feature?.

If you manage the thermostat properly instead of leaving it on all the time then your bills will be lower. Leaving it on all the time is only for rich sims.

I wish I could do that but right now I'm in the middle of a heat wave and you hardly can do anything without the thermostat on...unless you're in the pool all day long.

Of course you can. Just change everyone into their hot weather clothes

Yes, that's how I manage it in the summer - I've never turned on the air conditioning. (I don't have it in real life, either.) It might be a problem in Oasis Springs, though - my Sims live in Newcrest. (Newcrest does get heat waves, but I wonder if heat waves are more intense in Oasis Springs?)
