Jungle adventure took me back home (positive long read)
So, mostly all the streams or bits and pieces of videos I tried to see or caught were temple ones and some build/buy modes. I was ok with the content and decided to get just to have something added to the game that I could have my sims do and their stories expanded.
Up until now the stories for my sims have taken me to happiness when they accomplish a really difficult aspiration with 4 toddlers , celebrate their accomplishments and when they pass on I do mourn them as well. They become part of my storytelling characters ....
Today I took my sim couple on their honeymoon to selva dorada, got them in their villa and had a bite to eat at the cantina (which the platanos fritos caught my eye since its actually one of my fav dishes in real life), it was getting dark so just decided to spend they would spend the night partying away... the next day I set them off .... I didn't know what to expect the next day.
So, I go exploring and start seeing the foliage.. and the avocado trees, the plantain trees ..then I saw the waterfall and the view from the cliff and my eyes just watered... my husband popped in to say something and he asked if this was taken from Puerto Rico. As most of you know, PR was ravaged last year by Hurricane Maria and by what I am told Puerto Rico was left barren ... Puerto Rico is home to a little Rainforest called El Yunque... which was this image brought me back. Yes, the foliage will grow back ..everything will go back to the way it was... but to see this view brought me back home literally, before all the leaves went away.. in all its "cartoony" flavor. I know it wasn't based on the island but everyone who is born and raised in this tropical environment and then moves away, learns to appreciate a good avocado, plantains and whatever you can cook with rice. Because of the way life is, I haven't been to the island in a couple of years but I miss it every day. Jungle Adventure has literally brought me in a way a piece of home to ME, not to my sims.
And to the people who say but its name is the golden jungle not rainforest...... travel and then tell me otherwise
