Kids or No Kids?

It differs. I'm a storyteller and I only make sims have kids if that fits into the story or I leave it up to MCCC. Most sims do have kids though, but every time I play a big family I kind of regret it because I feel like I'm missing out on so much when I go to a community lot or something with only one of them.

Might be a stupid question but what does MCCCC mean? Yeah sometimes, I want them to have kids but when I start to have kids, then I feel like I don't enjoy the game play as much because then they are busy until the kid reaches like actual kid level.

I used to always play big families, but I found since lockdown I have been playing solo sims- and loving it. Maybe I am getting sick of the same family members always being around.
MCCC is a mod that makes story progression better- sims keep having babies and getting married around you, getting jobs etc so you don't have an empty town by the end of the second generation. I think it stands for Master Controller Command Centre

Usually I play with aging turned off until my Sim gets married or starts having kids.

How can you figure out if you have aging turned off with a cheat code? Because I think I did it once a long time ago and now I can't figure out how I have it set. And yeah, I was thinking I'd have them have at least one child. I feel any more then that is too hard.

You can set aging off (and on) from the gameplay options.

Kids or No Kids?

Yes.

I'm not huge on child gameplay but I usually make my sim couples have at least one child. I like sims with a history and family legacy behind them.

Remember they can have children from YA to Adult life stages, so there's plenty of time. I either make them have a child right at the beginning or before they age into elders. I also play around with lifespans a lot to make sure they have some child-free time (for building relationships, advancing in career, skill building etc.) I would maybe suggest doing that if you don't want to handle lots of stuff at once. You can always age up toddlers and children if you feel it gets too much.

I have no set pattern. Sometimes I make families. Sometimes single Sims that I work into a relationship and then married. Sometimes out of wedlock kids (OH MY!!) Most times though, I do the adoption thing. If I have a family I start from acquaintances I will usually adopt pretty quickly after marriage, same with a Sim I decide I'm gonna use as a single parent. I think it just depends on my mood. I did make a family once in CAS and it was a single dad, twin children, and a toddler. It was a hot mess and I loved it!

Yeah, pretty much always. Because (like someone before) I don't want to end the game when they die. If I want to play with just one sim I often do that, but eventually they'll become a single parent or something to keep the legacy going :)
