Kit Theme Survey

Oof, I don't really like any of these. The Alice one and the tea one sound like they could be nice. Though, I'd almost prefer if they scrapped the Wonderland as a kids themed pack (please no more kids packs) and instead combined it with the tea kit idea. I would love to create an outdoor mad hatter tea party with wonderland themed garden decor like flowers with faces, mushrooms, some nice rose bushes, maybe some queen of hearts themed stuff. A nice big table with a pretty tablecloth, a mix of different chairs, some pastry items and tea cup decor, as well as a functional tea set... That would be super cool. But, I am on the more fantasy side usually so I can see that not appealing to some.

Edit: This is a really weird idea but I would just really like it LOL. A massive teacup that behaves almost like a hot tub. Bathe in tea....

I don't want new overpriced kits with the same old usual objects. This is getting ridiculous.

I don’t own many kits. I’m generally only interested in BB kits that have a significant number of functional or interactive objects (e.g. “Little Campers”), as opposed to basic clutter or decorative items.  IMHO since kits are so small, as many items as possible should be made functional.  Ex. if a coffee or end table contains a book, then it should have the ability to function like a bookshelf.  I was disappointed that the tables that came in the “Book Nook” kit lacked that ability.

1. Luxury Yurt: I think that “glamping” could be a nice addition. I also play a lot of “rags-to-riches” & “off-the-grid.” So, ideally, this kit would include several functional “off-the-grid” items.
2. Boho Surfer Bungalow: I could see this kit integrating well with “Island Living” & again, I hope that it would include a decent number of functional “off-the-grid” items. I would also like another functional aquarium.
3. Author’s Haven: I like the Dark Academia theme & I think it would blend well with other packs. It would be nice if this kit came with a functional typewriter. Ideally, it would also contain several toggle-able “inspired” emotion items, so that a sim can easily get into the ideal “very inspired” mood for the writing skill. I was disappointed that the “Artist Studio” kit only had one item that could be enabled with an “inspired” emotional aura.
4. Tea Time: This sounds like a cute idea. The description says “elegant tea set.” However, I would like to see it include a functional modern, as well as, a traditional tea set. Ideally, it would also include a functional tea set for children.
5. Bathroom Retreat:  A new complete bathroom set would be nice. The lighting & aromatherapy candles could also possibly be used to improve community spaces like spas or yoga studios.
6. Sunrooms and Porches: I’m not really a builder & this kit sounds like it will contain mostly build items, and very few buy items, similar to “Castle Estate.” So, I don’t think that I would get a lot of use out of it.
7. Themed Kids Bedroom - Wonderland: All of the kids themed kits sound fine & I would probably use them occasionally. I’ve ranked them in order of preference.

9. Kids Backyard Haven
10. Pillowfort Slumber Party
11. Manicured Garden: I rarely use the items from Romantic Garden Stuff, so I doubt that I would find much use for this kit.
12. Garden Tool Clutter: I hate clutter. I would only be interested in the bird fountain & the additional planter boxes if they are functional.

I picked the boho beach one cause of the aquarium.

It was hard to choose when they all sound great, 

The Children theme kits could be combined in a new EP for kids featuring an update on skills and skills training from adults (Adult occults training their youth.) I'm not interested in the children's themes unless the gameplay advances their skills through adult mentoring in a new way.

I like Sunrooms and Porches for build/buy/gardening and hobbies DLC.

I like Boho Surfer Bungalow for Sulani build/buy DLC

Honestly none of these would be new and refreshing gameplay for me if I had to choose and pay. Most of these ideas are all extensions of what the game has already offered within the last 10 yrs.

The Luxury Yurt idea could have been added to Outdoor Retreat right away. I want Van Life even more for it's unique gameplay that it could offer to the game with the hint or hope of vehicles more than Luxury Yurt.

I am curious why so many gardening-type kits, we've already gotten a gardening decor kit and planting kit (Blooming Room), so I don't know if we need another one. I understand there's a lot we can do in gardening, some of the descriptions seemed to include shrubs/bushes/trees which we don't get a lot of new ones but I don't want a million gardening kits or a million variations of any one kit. Give us more swatches or expand the idea into a SP/GP/EP so we can get it all at once. 

A lot of the stuff sounds like copy and paste to me. They should give game play kit another try like adding a pool table kit, poolslide, smoothies  smachine,  more  Arcade machine, see saw,  Merry go  around so many good items are being left out of the kits .

What's everyone's personal rankings? Let's see if we can gauge which ones are resonating with people.

1. Tea Time: Could go either way for me. We could get a whimsical, but classy look that we don't usually see in the game. It could work with a classic grandma's home, or for a high-class family's solarium, or used for a kid's tea party. It could potentially be a stylish pack with a lot of versatility.
2. Author’s Haven: Nothing particularly new or groundbreaking, but it could be nice. I'd like some more book/messy book decor. It'd be great for bookworms, messy sims, writers, of different stripes. I see a vision.
3. Themed Kids Bedroom: Could be cute, depending on how they're executed. Kid room themes are pretty niche, and I wouldn't use them all the time. But whenever I have kid sims who would like those themes, I'd gladly whip up rooms with these kits.
4. Sunrooms and Porches: Sounds cute, but the Greenhouse Haven's window and door swatches already let us make beautiful sunrooms. Having more options is nice, I guess. So I wouldn't be upset at it existing. A porch swing sounds nice, but I'd expect it to be just a glorified sofa, instead of an actual seat with a swinging element to it.
5. Boho Surfer Bungalow: I like the idea, though would they be able to pull off a full shack with just a kit? And it's weird to have a surf shack in a game with no actual surfing. Other than that, eh - seems like Island Living 2.0. I wouldn't be too upset, but it's not exactly unique and could be borderline DLC for DLC. 
6. Manicured Garden: I mean, I wouldn't object to some nice garden stuff. Flowers are wicked. I'd have to see this in action  see what exactly they're aiming for. Could potentially move up or down my list, but I'll put it in the middle for now.
7. Pillowfort Slumber Party: I mean, that Little Campers kit already has a lot of elements of this. I guess a pillow fort could be cute, I'd be down to use it if you could actually interact with it. Otherwise it'd just be a huge waste of space (as in, it'd have a giant item footprint), so it's only use would be for taking themed screenshots. And I know, you'd be giving players a very cheap alternative to the EPs by giving them access to sleeping bags here. But when you keep giving us the same items over and over again, it waters down the concept and takes away the value of the other packs. Especially because things are reused constantly, instead of just in rare instances where they're really necessary.
8. Kids Backyard Haven: This one highlights how kids have so little to do in the basegame. They're just reskinning things + porting over basketball from City Living. And that's assuming the basketball stuff wouldn't be non-interactable decor.
9. Garden Tool Clutter: This just sounds  like Greenhouse Haven, but with a bird fountain. 
10. Luxury Yurt: You can already glamp in the game, and it's not like a kit will do anything to flesh it out in a meaningful way. It'll probably be just a bunch of fancy, niche decor that you may or may not even be able to put in your inventory. Camping is also limited in this game if you don't own certain packs - otherwise you can just camp in your backyard or in parks. It feels like one of those ideas that works great for making pretty builds or taking pics, but doesn't work out perfectly when you consider the gameplay.
11. Bathroom Retreat: Sounds like Spa Day, but limited to just washroom decor.

Like I know kits aren't meant to be groundbreaking, some can just enhance what's already there. But I feel like many of these are retreads, than genuine enhancements.

I'm tired of slumber party theme because it's an American thing (TV show), it doesn't really happen in France for example.

To be honest none of them is exciting. Right now I'm more interested in Venue/Business stuff like Cozy Bistro Kit and hobby stuff like Artist Studio Kit.
