The "men's" wear kit was the one that annoyed me most as there are so few masculine options as is. BUT I bought it after much anguish and after trying to keep an open mind. Having done so, I have only used one of these "men's" clothing options. I did, however put one of my "masculine" (as masculine as the game allows) men into a women's skirt that was more masculine and made that work.
I checked them all out and realized that they were definitely not what I would define as men's wear. I have never in my 50 years nor in the 38 states I've had the pleasure of visiting, seen a single man (who identified as a man) wearing anything like this.
I say that to say this: I would rather have the choice to get these kits than have them forced into my game in the form of a patch.
If you're not into something a kit offers, don't buy it. The same with all packs. The tiny living and knitting packs were the last ones that I had to purchase. That was because they were the least attractive to me. I did buy them because I decided to.
I still want to see a masculine pack or at the least a kit! ALONG WITH BODY HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So recap: kits are OPTIONAL. That's the point. Should they be free? I would love that but I would love everything everywhere to be free.
With a price tag attached, it gives us a chance to assess how much we do or do not want them. Then ultimately, we make the choice.
