Kleptomania and apartmentkeys?

So... My only non toddler alien (adult actually) needs to give out an apartment key for the Insider aspiration and I thought it would be quite cool to have him handing out a key to his only friend that is also an alien. A nice townie lady alien who also happens to be a kleptomaniac. Something he found out by doing that nifty alien scanning thing of his. That did shock me a bit because said townie has been into my other households as a visitor and I never really had my Sims get around to get to know her as well as they should have.

Soooo a wrinkle has been tossed into my proverbial plans... I do love the negative traits and I have even fished out some homeless households and added them to my rotational play because they contain Sims with negative traits. I am also keeping an eye on a few homeless townies and NPCs for future adding. But...kleptomania is a trait that I am a bit vary off and I tend to avoid Sims with that trait. I even edited the trait out of the NPC Sim that comes to repair stuff when called.

So, what I'd like to know is, can my alien safely give his key to his klepto friend or will he and his girlfriend come home one day and find their apartment cleared out? Well, I know that wont happen but do Sims with the klepto trait take stuff from active household when visiting? Because I have never noticed stuff go missing when this particular Sim has been visiting other households or this alien household.

And there is always the possibility to edit the trait outta her...
