Oh, it's not a specific lot to knitters, the club will visit various existing community lots, and they will all have certain activities attracting the non played club members more than the knitting activity. could be a bar or a fishing pond, but of course also NPCs wanting to talk.
I don't think it's possible avoiding this, unless you use a small residential lot or a generic community lot. I focus most on my active sim though, so it's not such a big deal. The other members might sit down to knit occasionally, wish it happened more often during the gathering, though.
