Hello! I love that the Sims 4 team is reaching out for even more feedback from the community!
Q1: Cats and Dogs - cats and dogs should be Abel to play with yarn, tear up knitting projects in progress when left out, and I still definitely want to be able to knit a current CAS pet sweater!
Seasons - I would like to be able to gift knitted projects to sims on holidays. Maybe have an ugly sweater party option, under holiday traditions an option to choose “wear ugly sweater”
Parenthood - toddlers maybe should be able to make a mess with yarn? ALSO I would like to see knitting increase emotional control in kids and teens.
Laundry Day - it would be cool to see the sweaters shrink in the drier
I definitely want to see children be able to interact with the knitting skill.
Q2: wouldn’t bother me at all, happy
Q3: Maybe children could be tied to the desk while they practice knitting and be mentored at the desk (like helping with homework), I would like sims to be able to sit at a desk to knit but I don’t think any special animations for the desk are necessary.
Q4: I think knitting should take longer than painting with poor quality results with lower skills, but the same time as painting as the skill increases over 5-6 level. I like the idea of stopping and starting again. And I really like the idea of being able to multitask (talk, watch tv, listen to music, etc) while knitting.
Q5: I would stay they should stand only if they are off lot? If they are at home (and not an elder) I would like to see them sit on the ground to knit over standing.
Q6: I imagine the granny in her rocking chair and her kid grandchild kneeling on the floor next to her and talking as they knit at about the same pace. The child would get frustrated and rage quit here and there but I think it would Increase emotional control. I think that kneeling and knitting things should definitely be available for all the younger life states.
Q7: As someone who buys from Etsy for gifts but doesn’t knit myself, I don’t see this as a huge priority. They can sell their items in their inventory to gain money and I think the resources that would go into this project would be better used somewhere else.
That’s said, maybe they could register online and someone could request them to knit something? Like in the sims 3 opportunities? This would also be cool for handiness skill (repairing)(carving/crafting), and maybe painting?
Maybe it would be an odd job? I don’t think a whole freelancer career is necessary.
Q8: They should definitely get an uncomfortable buff for as long as they wear it. Maybe they get mad if they wear it for too long?
Someone mentioned getting a rash that goes away with a bath, love that idea.
Q9: “She is on point! Needle point!” “Knit happens”
“Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the yarn is so delightful, and since we’ve no place to go, another row another row another row ?❄️“
Q10: I don’t think so, I would like it if it could be very infrequent but I can imagine it being all the time and messing up story lines and making hanging with grandma no fun.
Thank you for the questions! I love giving feedback!
