- Pegasyms7 years agoSeasoned AceI don't think modular stairs are making it into this next patch yet. That is the one thing I really want, to be able to make L and U shaped stairs. I was recently trying to recreate my RL house which has an L staircase and there was no way to do so (and the hacks I've seen people use wouldn't work at all, my house is not a drop/split level, etc. ). However, I do think they are getting close and this patch will be "foundational" to making modular stairs possible.
- Finally I have a reason to play the really big lots! I never know what to do with all that space, but... canyons. I am so there for that. I just might finally be able to do the terrain manipulation, too. I had a really hard time getting it to look at all decent in Sims 3, but this looks a bit more non-builder-friendly. Also canyons. Your own personal canyon.
- simsimsere7 years agoSeasoned AceI enjoyed the stream, loved Greg! I was worried that the tools might be beyond my skills, but there were at least some bits that looked easy enough for me to try. I want to give a shoutout to those fences, they looked amazing going up and down the terrain. I agree about the big lots @luthienrising, those will be the perfect playground :)
- LiELF7 years agoLegendOh my.
I'm going to have to completely rebuild my worlds when everybody's amazing creations hit the gallery. :o - Movotti7 years agoNew SpectatorCan't we have a 2 minute video of the highlights? Not everyone has over has hour to waste watching videos like this. :(
- LatinaBunny7 years agoSeasoned AceOh, gosh!!!! I love it!
I’m sooo hyped for these terrain tools! Can’t wait for the patch!
I wanna see all of the beautiful gallery builds/creations that will come about from this! - I'm more excited for this then I thought I'd be. From what we saw in maxis monthly I thought it would somewhat basic tools but it seems like they are really looking into making it very advanced and easy to use.
It's a shame we can't do true multilevel builds but honestly we could never do that. I know many players will say you could in ts4 but the reality is no you couldn't you could cheat to make a floor level small enough to give the illusion of multilevel houses but you actually gave up an entire floor level to do so. I want multilevel where two rooms of the same level can connect and be different heights. Not only that but it was so much work just to change the floor levels. If it takes them longer to give true multilevel homes and make it easy to use then I'm all for the wait.
As for not being able to paint the terrain of ground that has been elevated enough that the "stone" underneath becomes exposed I don't think we could even do that in ts3. I think I even remember seeing it glitch out and prevent me from painting it even after smoothing out the ground as the stone just remained exposed. - @VentusMatt It sounds like they believe they can make a true split-level, though, eventually.
- ChadSims27 years agoSeasoned RookieLooks amazing Sims 4 rarely gets things right but they did it here.
- I hope they update the foundations tool in the future. I really hate the fact that the foundations under a room needs to be exactly like the room. Somethimes we want to be a little more creative, like creating a pillar-foundation or something, but we cant.[I would also like some of the freedom we had in SIsm 2, like stacking foundations and stuff like that. We could make our own l shaped stair using that!
