Life and Death Negative thread

Replying to my own thread because I think I found a work around. If an item on the bucket list is something your sim doesn't like doing, but there are other things on the list that your Sims will do the list can still be useable.

For example: using Genesis bucket list for success:

• Get level 10 Fitness
• Reach Level 10 video gaming
• Complete university
• Earn 10,000 Simoleons

This list is usable by Genesis. I can complete 3 of these goals and then when the video gaming goal is the only one left, I can scrap the list and start again. Again it would just be nice to scrap a single goal.

Yeah, when I read about it and the lame excuse on Twitter why no snow, that was the final go "not-gonna-buy" this pack! We purchased Season for a reason! Lately seasons is partly missing in previous packs as well.

By default Grim Reaper isn't created in the old savegame if no sim died.

Grim Reaper is also in a hidden household like Senior Pollination Technician #3, he isn't visible in a traditional list.

You'll feel better about things in time. I lost my Dad in 2020 amongst several friends from that illness that was going around then  and I don't have any negative feelings whatsoever about this pack. I bought it the moment it was allowed for presale. 

As for the direction that EA is taking with this pack. I've got to tell you I've played the Sims since Sims 1. This has always been the direction. This is just an enhancement not a derivation. In Sims 2 Olive Spector had a kid with the Grim Reaper and that is Nervous Subject. Sims 3 allowed you to try and romance a ghost and they had a whole career in Supernatural with the Fortune Teller. My only complaint is that Fortune Teller wasn't a career in this pack and that they didn't add tasseography too.

I am so disappointed at this expansion not having Seasons compatibility that I will not be buying until they include it (And I have every single Expansion).  It's not even that this will make this world better or more in keeping with the part of the world they are trying to emulate with this pack. But it's more to do with how disappointed I am with what most definitely feels like their cutting corners on development and cross-compatibility. Why make us buy into the whole Seasons Pack and "Enjoy the Seasons in the Sims!" if you won't add it to your worlds?!

I feel cheated and like they are dropping a major part of game play that I paid for! So instead they try to whip out worlds where there are "No Seasons" even though there is no such thing anywhere in the world. Even tropical parts of the world experience all four seasons, they might not get snow, but they go through the seasons regardless. I should know I've lived in the tropics.

If you don't want to go through the trouble of adding season's support to your world do not sell Seasons in your game! As I understand it, this should not be subjective. You buy seasons, you get seasons. You can add a toggle in the worlds! Just don't insult me and my wallet. That's where I draw the line.

I was depending on Seasons adding heavy rains and gloomy winters to the new world for ambiance and gameplay.

This is another huge disappointment for me with the EP. It has to go on a 25-50% sale before I think about purchase. All my worlds have Seasons! I paid for that feature to be in every world too?! What a sad dark rainy cloud. 😞

Edit: I can't believe more simmers are not bothered by this. 😦

From what I've noticed, a lot of simmers are bothered by it, someone even made a mod to add seasons back to the world. It's almost non stop rain and thunderstorms in my world now. If anything it should have been an option in game settings whether you wanted weather changes in the world or not. 

edit: actually so many people were bothered by it that they took to twitter/x and harassed simguruninja to the point of him deactivating his account there. Honestly that is disgusting behavior, one can be unsatisfied with a feature and voice your opinion in a civilized matter without being rude.
