Lifestyle Brand - How do you keep it profitable?

I'm wondering the same thing. My sim never even made a 100 simoleons with her Lifestyle Brand. Updating it didn't help at all, and the only interaction for it I can find is to promote it to other sims, but I have yet to explore if that increases the profit you earn from it.

I "enthused" to other people and only got up to $90. I'm disappointed. There are so many interactions for certain actions but when it comes to this it just falls flat. I hope we're missing something because it started off as a really good idea.
