Literally NOTHING increases Fame except actor career!

To rectify this issue just create a group or two or three that goes to venues to watch performances.

Yes I know it's supposed to be realistic but it's also shouldn't be impossible..
Please note I'm talking about fame not Reputation, reputation do increase with things like gifting..making good friends..I'm talking about fame..

Why is it that THAT hard to even get a tiny millimeter increase in the fame bar when performing all fame interactions for sim weeks??!

I have been attempting to create a singer Sim. So far, he's up to Rising Star. I did take note that going from Notable Newcomer to Rising Star seemed to take an inordinate amount of time, however. (or maybe I'm impatient. No maybe about that I am impatient!) I'm also very glad that reputation is something all of our Sims need to worry about and not just the famous. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time of it. I also noticed that a Sim must perform the +fame interactions in PUBLIC. Doing so at home (essentially buried in a closet) gets them no notice whatsoever. They have to put themselves out there, if you will.

I hope I have been even a modicum of help. Good luck, or should I say 'break a leg'? Actors are so superstitious, after all. ;)

I have a singer that made it to level 3 -- She performs a lot at venues, she also streams while she performs, while she practices she makes videos to upload to her website, and she is in the entertainer career. I actually had her become more famous than her actor husband much faster too. She didn't lose fame as quickly as he did because she performed a lot. I make her perform at least 4x a week.

Problem I have is with the low tips so i just cheat and give her $1k a night when she performs at a venue.

Have you considered using Sacrificial's Road to Fame mod? He's got a new one that includes Professional Singer. So far, it's great. The singing career is five levels, of which my Sim (who is still a teen) has managed to achieve. He's enormously busy and he often gets invitations (bookings, really) for concerts while performing a concert. At first I thought I had to complete the next concert on the heels of the previous one. But, I allowed myself to relax a tad. All I need do is send him to an #RTF concert venue (which you can find on the Gallery). I have about three set up in various neighborhoods. One is an outdoor venue, too, which is problematic in the rain. Well, the audience doesn't seem to mind. Just do a search on Road to Fame Professional Singer Career and you should find it with relative ease. Just make sure when you install it, you only go one level into the Mods folder. My Sim is now at a point where he may need to hire bodyguards. Using GF and RTF in tandem has created the experience I so desired. Oh, and those concerts net a cool ten thousand Simoleons upon completion. Not bad for a few hours' work, eh?

Agree with a lot of ppl posting. The first two stars are tough but one you get to b-lister, it’s much easier because you have more opportunities and the things you do to collect fame count for more. I like that it mirrors real life in this way. The more famous you are, the more you can do regular things and get attention for it. And I’ve found that using the game rewards really matters, something I LOVE because I never much bothered to build up satisfaction points before. So my Sim with the entrepreneurial reward trait climbed the acting ladder to movies much quicker. She built up a really positive rep so she got a lot more attention from people, which she used to her advantage to do performances and pose pictures and gain more fame. I’ve been scheduling a lot of meet and greets and pretending like my sim is doing press for her movies and tv shows (I make her wear her costume which is hilarious). I send her all around the different sim neighborhoods And stream her doing performances and make her constantly update her social media status. I have her take photos with a-list celebrities (she has the marketable reward trait so they sell for more $$$) and then sell it to gossip mags for more fame. I even have a storyline where her agency hooked her up with a more famous sim (she has the beguiling trait and the incredibly friendly trait so it was pretty easy). They stream their dates and record flirty video blogs even though behind the scenes they are barely friends. The entire thing is completely exhausting and I love it! I can’t wait until she is a five star celebrity and I can build her a small farmhouse on a huge lot with a fence so she can get some rest!

Maybe it's just your game. I got Bob to become a celebrity Chef rather quickly.

It's definitely possible to level fame without the acting career, albeit a bit slower. I enabled fame for my Supersim to get a head start for when I get to the acting career, but she's up to 2 star without me really actively doing anything. She does have a social media profile set up and often posts to that, she also likes karaoke :D

I agree that it's definitely better to do things out and about. I thought my music producer sim wasn't getting much fame because he hadn't released that many songs, so I'd been having him spam a bunch out in the hopes he'd get more fame, but nope, didn't work. When Father Winter invited him out to a talent show and I played on of his songs on the radio, he got a way more fame in just that short amount of time.

Someone on this thread mentioned streaming helped, plus inviting a group of people to go with your Sims. I started doing that and next thing I knew he was a B-lister. After playing for a few hours today, and at least two concerts with my Sim. (duly streaming simultaneously), Erik is now a Proper Star. Let's hope it doesn't go to his teen head. LOL I love that glow about him. He's also minded his P's & Q's (Pints and Quarts, for those uncertain of the meaning) and has a Pristine Reputation. He was invited to his very first Charity Event, but sadly, the only way he could gain points toward fame was to engage in a Dance Battle. So, he challenged the host of the event. Erik is a tad rusty in the dancing department. His back flip, flopped. He stayed all the way through the end of the event and wrote and recorded a song, had his picture taken for a magazine and later that next day had another concert. It was in the midst of this concert that he became a Proper Star. What an exciting ride for this teen Sim. His birthday is coming up and he's just planned a proper birthday bash. It's on the calendar so his family won't miss it. The very next day, his older brother is getting married. Let's hope Erik and his family don't hit the juice too heavily at the birthday party so they don't mar the wedding, which has been on the books for days and days, now.

Oh, I should mention that keeping up with the media updates and the Simstagraham also lends itself to points accrued.

My Sim, Alan Stanley (#TheSims3 #Bridgeport), got famous pretty fast when I had him taking pictures at a dance party in Windenburg. He took pictures of the guests, DJane, bartender and landscape and sold them. Now he is a 1-star-celebrity and made some money beside his job of being a writer.
