Looking for a new sims laptop!

Hi y’all! So it’s been several years since i bought my mid ish range desktop for the game and now I’m off to college! Instead of bringing a desktop i figured i should get a gaming laptop , but I’m very bad with tech specs. I’d like to stay below 1200 , preferably around 800 since i was considering a Mac. I just want something that can play sims 2-4 with all packs. Since it will also be my college laptop I’m looking for as slim as possible since it’ll be in my backpack every day!

  • Dell G5587-7866BLK-PUS G5 15 5587 Gaming Laptop 15.6" LED Display, 8th Gen Intel i7 Processor, 16GB Memory, 128GB SSD+1TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti, Licorice Black But if you are going to use this to play The Sims games on you are going to need a cooling device of some kind. Sims3 is especially hard on laptops. If you can, you should upgrade the memory to 32GB just to be safe. It weighs 6.2 pounds and is available on Amazon. Congratulations on heading off to college!!

These are the specs you want to look for for the best possible gaming experience.

i5 or i7 : 7th gen or higher quad core
Dedicated graphic card, GTX 1050 or better
    16GB RAM

Now, hard drive is a bit in debate. Some people swear SSD makes no difference on Sims 4. I play exact same saves on both SSD and on HDD and there is a definite difference between the two. Both systems are more than recommended, both have exact same mods and CC, everything is the same, game wise and my HDD is much slower than my SSD.

So my personal recommendation is to get at least a 500 GB (or larger) SSD AND a 1TB (or larger) HDD.

If the SSD is smaller than 500 GB, you really don't want to game on it. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend anything less than 1TB SSD, but I know that can get super pricey, though SSD prices have come done a lot in the last few years. So, aim for at least 500GB SSD and a secondary 1TB (or more) HDD for storage and space.

  • If you're buying today, this is an excellent deal. (sale is for today only)

Dell Alienware with a SSD and the largest screen available. I have one about 10 years old and it still runs great, well worth the price.

Hey there! Try not to bump your thread too often, considering people are still responding and the thread hasn't gone inactive there really isn't too much of a need to keep bumping the thread okay.
