Hello everyone! This is is my first day checking out the new forums - sadly my early impressions are really not positive and unless changes are made I can't myself visiting here all too often. π The lack of subsections makes it so messy, threads don't appear to have page numbers so if you want to read all posts you have to scroll endlessly, and every time I visit I seem to have been logged out. Sad times.

Hi Simmers π I am much better now and finally able to actually sit down and play. I am loading my game for the first time in ages and will have a look at the new pack now . If there is any new collections then I will start playing to find them and add them to my collection rooms π I have checked all my mods a while back and they all worked, I also put them all together in one thread for you guys now. So will update that thread from now on instead of all the separate ones π
I am glad that you are much bettermcrudd π Your collections rooms are very helpful! Thankyou very much for them.

Hi everyone! Iβve been a bit apprehensive about this move and I can see it will take a good while for this to feel comfortable and familiar. Iβm going to miss the old forum. And I really miss everyoneβs avatars. We lose so much by not being able to express something about ourselves through them. Hopefully weβll get them eventually!

Hmm. Iβm not a fan of the nested replies, meaning that if I want to see unread replies hidden in those nests I have to go through the whole thread again! Itβs not so bad with short threads, but for long ones it will be impractical. That means Iβll miss out on reading continuing discussion of particular points that arise. Those are sometimes the most interesting bits of a thread!

I think I'm going to have to give up on reading every message. I just spent 40 minutes scrolling through this one thread starting first from oldest then from newest. At some point, the thread couldn't take any more "see mores" and turned into the white screen of death. It still shows that there are 11 posts in this thread somewhere that I have never seen.
This forum seems to have more of a hit and run approach. Trying to type this reply, I've had the screen freeze up three times. So I'm going to have to change my approach. And maybe post less.
Lol, this is what bothers me most. π That little indicator that there are still unread replies when I've been scrolling though the same thread several times carefully reading every reply and clicking on show more.
I have no idea who has replied to me these past few days π
so many notifications that take me nowhere
I actually made it through all but I think 2 replies. Not sure if they are really recent or maybe were deleted but still count? I'm rather blurry eyed over the ordeal. And no way am I going to even attempt the really old threads, lol.
Will just try to keep my fav threads up to date instead.

I think if I can follow the main discussion, I'll just have to be satisfied with that. I mainly use my phone. I might have to try my PC, but I'm not sitting there often.

It still shows that I have one unread comment on my Whittaker Saga thread, and I just went through all 200+ and edited most of them. I know there isn't a single one I've missed and it bugs me more than it probably should that it says there is.

Hello everyone! I may stop by periodically (to finally catch up on others' Sims), but I probably won't be much of an active member here because the style of these forums is more Q&A/tech help than discussion. Defaulting to "most liked", not having individual avatars, and not having pagination discourages community building. Anyway, I'm glad to see that others made it.
It's funny to have a 15 year badge and be a "New Spectator" at the same time. I can't have my old name because I already have it ...
HelloHaneul33 π It is nice to see you here.
Lovely to see you here anyway π€

Alright, I'm here. And sooo confused. Don't even know if I'm posting this in the right... "thread", if that's still the word we're using. Well, I'll see how it goes. Anyway, hello!
HelloGrumpyGlowfish π It is great to see you here. This is a good thread to say hello in.
Welcome to the jungle :)

Hello everyone! During the last week I left just a few messages in a very ranting tone because I was very busy with work and I was focusing on what seemed to be the most urgent as new info about this new forum emerged and the old one definitively went into read-only. Now, however, I'm on vacation and I'll have the time to learn to navigate this new platform. I still think it's a disaster for the creative corners' activities, but for most other things it's the community that matters, and that largely remained the same.
P.S.
If you don't remember me from my nickname alone, here is my historical perplexed avatar (I can't wait to set it up again also here!)HelloHermioneSims π It so lovely to see you here. I hope that you enjoy your vacation and time away from your work.

In sober and simpler words- I still feel as lost on this forum as I did when I arrived here on Day 1. I'm trying to get good at this, but it's like a friggin' chore innit?
Nearly a week after launch, it is still quite hard work to get around here. Itβs slow and cumbersome. Sure, the bugs and glitches will get smoothed out with time, but fundamentally I donβt think itβs well designed. Weβre all having to try to find ways to work around it, rather than being able to just get on with what we want to do: read and post comments.

I am still trying to figure out how other users are alerted when someone makes a reply to a thread. (ie directly to your thread or directly to a response you make). Do we receive alerts? So far, I have been receiving a catch-all notification about many people responding in the thread in general. Do we need to use the "at" sign?
So far, I have had to manually check posts I made so see if there are responses. Any ideas?
There's three different symbols that can appear in the blue dot in notices from what I can see. A thumbs up if someone likes your post. A bell, but that appears every time someone posts in that thread. Whether or not it was to you specifically. There's also the @ symbol if someone mentions you.
