I'm just checking my internet connection for the moment so I will make this short. TS3's flaws are bad, no one who actually plays TS3 denies it. They use the mods to 'fix' whatever they felt needed fixing. But here in TS4 world, no one see the irony they also use the mods to 'fix' it. Every time I read a bug list before they are removed someone has suggested a mod to fix it.
So, here is my point. I'm ready for TS4 to end. I'm tired of bugs. I'm tired of half baked Expansions. Mind you and anyone else, I enjoyed several GPs in TS4 but they have a focus such as Dine Out is about dining out, and or running a restaurant. Of course you can play your Sim and do both or one or the other while you play the rest of their life. GPs in TS4 for the most part have been interesting twists to old ideas. I liked several of them. Two or three I felt were lacking and lack luster and possibly the wrong direction and not much replay value. Such as going to the woods/mountains. Not much in that and disappearing guests made that a bit useless. And Strangerville, no thanks. Spa Day was a glorfied stuff pack and we all know it. But I did like some of the objects until Sims no longer showed up at Spas like when the pack was first released.
But what I'm tired of is the Expansion packs sold at high prices when they are really just GPs. Everyone knows this or they should by now. The last few were so barren of gameplay the GPs actually offered more in them. But the cost was the price of an EP. Heck, they even had a GP cover for this last pack and changed it at the last minute to an EP cover. I, for one, won't fall for such tricks. I'm tired of the game breaking every thing over and over and over. But most who love TS4 must not mind because they use the big mods to 'fix' it. I won't do it. No. I didn't do it for TS3 and I won't do it for TS4. I expect Maxis to get their act together after five years and stop breaking packs we already have over and over and over. So, after five years of waiting on this mystical pack that is supposed to fill up this game and finally make it seem full to most players who will still be waiting in five more, and growning about the same pack is broke again and again, or never fixed at all, Maxis should really think of retiring this game before it's own reputation is as bad as everyone claims TS3's reputation became. But I see no difference both games need major mods to keep them 'fixed' like story progression etc. so why complain about TS3 when most of you are using mods to keep TS4 going. That is the irony. No one sees themselves until they look in the mirror. I don't use any mods at all to 'fix' TS2. I just play it.
And one day I hope Maxis gives up the money grab and goes back to building games instead of trying to influence people into buying broken junk. For every feature in this new pack there are two to three bugs per feature. Don't expect me to say oooh, aw, this is so cute, so beatutiful. I will tell it like it is.
