Lost all my in game pictures

oh dear simlord let this not happen to me i would be so angry and sad i have so many in game pictures for all my sim families :scream:

sadly don't know what could be done either i mean the best i have is the "have you tried turning it off and on again" advice of clearing caches and praying to the watcher,

but I'll join the wailing at moon ritual cause man thats awful

(also actually idk if clearing cache is like good or bad thing in this case when something is clearly missing)

Yikes, I feel for you @ModerateOsprey. I have SO MANY pictures in game ...and paintings made from those pictures. They go back 4 generations. I'd be devastated if that happened to me.

aye - moon wailing it is. I scoured everywhere for a solution and tried everything. Nothing worked.

I did save some of the rooms that contained my photos on the wall into my library and when I loaded those rooms, the photos were there. Sadly I only saved one or two rooms, so I have pretty much lost the lot.

So might be worth you saving any rooms with pictures on the wall as a just in case!

Hi @ModerateOsprey by any chance could those images still be in your Screenshots folder? Anytime you take a photo ingame or do a painting from reference, it also saves a copy to that folder.

Yeah, pretty gutted mate. I didn't use any of the build mode pictures. All my pictures were taken by my sims that I used for wall decoration.

See my response to simmingal above about saving the room as a backup.

So sorry to hear that. I just cleared most of my photo files to an external hard drive to make more memory room. Also, I would advise, if you haven't got one already, transfer your photos (the ones you desire to keep the most) to a third party site. I use imjur, myself. And when Photobucket decided to charge, I managed to save the ones I wanted the most. Did the right=click on the image and then Save Image As to pull them back to my computer.

@ModerateOsprey, Thank you for the tip about saving rooms. I'm doing that right now. You posted this thread at the same time as I was in-game adding 9 pictures onto the walls of the current household (taken at the engagement party I had this afternoon).

Yes and no. Most of them are there, but a handful are black. That would only be 5 or 6 black ones of just over a 1000 of them.

So yes, I have the bulk of the pictures in my screenshot folder, but I have no idea how I make them go back into their frames.

Its not just the pictures on the walls that are black, but also all photos in every sims inventory

are the pictures black if you save the room with black pictures and then replace it from gallery?

I do think gallery transfers in game pictures yes with rooms and lots and stuff but idk

also wonder if you have backup of your save that might contain some of the pictures you could then put into room to put in gallery and get them back

or if you first back up your current save and then go in game to reset save to one of the backup versions could that have pictures still there maybe? idk
