Making a single meal or a group meal

Not sure which one raises the cooking skill faster. However, you won't waste food making group meals because you can "put away" the leftover into the frig. Later, when your sims get hungry again, you can ask them to take a serving from the frig.

Oh..I forgot to tell that I want to raise up the cooking skill quickly. If I let my sim take the leftover from the fridge, then my sim wouldn't have to cook and their cooking skill would be slow down.

I don't think that there is a difference in the increase of the cooking skill between making a single and a group meal. After the meal is cooked, and servings taken, whatever is not eaten can be put away in the fridge for eating later on. Sims can get a serving later on when their hunger need drops.

It is a great idea to hold a party and use the food for it :) The food then won't be wasted, and your sim will have got the 50 points from cooking the group meal.

I prefer having leftovers in the fridge. That way if the parents are at work, the kids can come in and eat something other than a 'quick meal'. If I'm wanting to raise the cooking skill for a Sim, I simply have them cook every day.

Yes that's good when you have around 3 members of family but currently, I don't have any kids and only 2 young adult guys are living as the housemate.
