Mermaid Ears- Possible bug?

A few weeks ago, I edited my DC Teen Titans household to make Beast Boy into a mersim instead of a vampire, so it would be a better fit for the character. I was excited to do this because it seemed perfect, since mermsims can have all vampire physical traits, including the ears. As you can see in this pic, he has pointed ears in both mersim AND human form. However, when I recently loaded the household in CAS to check them out and possibly edit a bit, I noticed his pointed ears were missing in human form. I tried to edit them back, linked and unlinked the forms, but nothing. Mersims in human form can no longer have pointed ears, and I have no idea why. Is this some dumb "fix" from the latest patch, or a new bug that has messed things up?

    From the patch notes:

    Sims that randomly decided to cosplay and have pointy ears have now revert back to their normal selves.


    I presume this is related to this "fix" and I'm sorry you found this out the hard way. :( I have "Elves" in my saves where they're basically just casters with pointy ears, but I haven't updated yet to check and see if they too are effected. I hope your issue was only one-off.

    I checked and casters can still have the ears. Their eyes are still messed up though lol. I will figure something out. Thank you for clarifying :)

    I used a pointy ear unlock mod awhile back for putting the ears on mortal sims for my elves long before RoM existed, if it still works maybe you can use that to put the ears back on his human form?

    An update to this thread: So I discovered that my spellcaster "elves" no longer keep their pointy ears in Live Mode visibly but still have them in CAS, which doesn't make a lot of sense and is probably also still related to that "fix" from the prepatch.     Thank you for creating a thread, I added my voice to it.

    Really miss having pointy ears on my little spellcasters so this is really making me sad. It bugs me when I see them and they look wrong.

    Hopefully we get a fix or something that will give pointed ears option back to ALL occults... smh

    Hello again.

    I still miss my spellcaster ears, for me that was one really big sellingpoint of ROM and it is so so irritating to start having dreams and plans for your occult sim and then all of a sudden a new patch changes them.

    A simmer was talking about spellcaster ears in the general section of the forum so I am bumping this so that new readers can see it. Not every player see the missing ears straight away.

    UPDATE: I do believe pointed ears for spellcasters has returned in the last patch. However, mermaids in human form still cannot have them :/ Honestly Why can't they just patch it so everyone can have pointed ears? Just don't make it a preset or something to get through randomization, so townies don't generate as elves lol
