I have to disagree. It just doesn’t make sense for my sim to go to 11 parenting classes and then suddenly become a mixology specialist somehow.
I agree it doesn’t make sense from a gameplay perspective, but it was probably much easier for them to do it this way instead of automatically sending every Sim with a level 10 Mixology skill a certificate as soon as you install Discover University.
I personally don’t mind. In fact, I wish we had more certificates.
A better solution, imo, would have been to give Sims with level 10 Mixology skill an option to just buy the certificate (since classes would have cost money anyway). I don't like my sims getting something they didn't intentionally "earn". Even if it is the intended functionality (which I personally haven't seen that confirmed, so if someone could point me to where it has been, it would be helpful), the fact that it doesn't make sense from a gameplay perspective kind of makes it feel like cheating, and I prefer to play without cheating.
