Birth Certificates?

if you have the baby at home you won't get one.

If you do bb.showhiddenobjects you can find it in misc decor. There's a separate one for alien babies too! :)

Check family inventory. It may have been sent there for some reason - but all my sim babies born in the hospital always get one. A few times I noticed I found them in my families inventory when they are not in their personal inventory when the sims get back home. One thing to note - I have no mods or CC - so nothing to interfer with the normal workings of the game - might be why my sims always get their BC's. It looks much like diplomas sim in games with Uni get.

Aha - my sims spouses always go with them - and me too of course - so maybe that is why my sims babies all have one.

that is correct. if you send them but not go with them they don'tget one if they have a home birth they don't get one

I wonder why it was designed this way. Seems to me you should get one no matter what. But now I know what I need to do.

I'm just popping in to add that after your sim gives birth in the hospital, the birth certificate should be in the mother's personal inventory. That's always where I've found it. :smile:

Also, I agree that the certificate should come no matter whether the sim gives birth at the hospital or not. Hopefully, they'll patch in the capability for it to come in the mail one day. I always feel weird getting the certificate from using the hidden objects cheat, as it doesn't necessarily feel like it's actually the baby's. :lol: I know it's not any different than if I had had the sim have the baby at the hospital, but it'd be nice to get it no matter what.

Yes, I like the idea of it coming in the mail, no matter what, instead of appearing in the inventory. I'm no game developer, but it seems that would be a fairly easy thing to do.

Being able to receive the birth certificate in the mail would be convenient if you don't want your sim to give birth at the hospital. :)
