My Sim, Tamela Durant, very much wanted to finish reading a book. So, I sent her to the nearest bookcase and had her 'read something'. Then I tended to the other Sims in this capacity household. It's the next day and two of them have gone off to work. I decided to check on the toddlers, and had their Mama serve breakfast. My Global Superstar cut and released an brand new album and was upstairs in the castle 'tower' working on his acting skills for his next gig. Oh, and yes, he gave a concert prior to all of that, too. Well, I get around to checking on Tamela (rhymes with Pamela) only to find her still in the living room, book in hand. She is so engrossed that her bladder, energy and hygiene are all in the yellow and she's half-way (green) in her hunger bar. That must be one heck of a read!

UPDATE: And she's STILL reading that book. The Glutton Spiel!

Really must be. My sims can't read for more than 10 minutes before they're up and off doing something else. No focus at all.

I've never seen a Sim do this before.

I haven't had this happen with a Sim reading a book, but I did have one get stuck talking on her cell. Much like the Energizer bunny, the conversation just kept going and going... I finally had to reset her. It was a glitch and I'm guessing that's why your Tamela won't stop reading as well. :)

Really must be. My sims can't read for more than 10 minutes before they're up and off doing something else. No focus at all.

That's what I thought the first time, too. But, I did the debug on her and she just kept reading. She's totally absorbed by it. It's even made her cry. If you read the book's synopsis, seen when you hover your curser over it, it appears to be based on the Hunger Games.

UPDATE: She has a whim to 'finish reading a book' and yet, when I found her still out on the back patio, reading, when I hovered over the book she was REreading it! And still the whim remains …

I think it won't finish if you click "Read something" rather you need to click "Read..." and choose the book for them to read and then it finishes... I could be wrong though

I've had that glitch a lot. Especially if the whim is the right side one. It goes through a phase where none of those whims complete. Most of the time it seems that fiction books are the ones that trigger it.

She might need to read something new to fulfill the whim, instead of rereading?
