- If the lot is in your library you can just download it to the existing lot. While your family is there.
- I have done a lot switch while sims lived on a lot in my games without it being a problem. Unless you count forgetting to save some of the items that were on the old lot that I actually wanted to keep...but that's my fault, not the game's. It even warns you.

I have already moved his Fabrege Eggs into his inventory. Can't move the Accolades, sadly, or the charity trophies, but I have a list of how many of what kind. I would love to save the nearly full-grown plantain tree and the mature other plants, which I could do if I was moving them out. But, I don't even want to move them to another town even temporarily, lest the starlight accolade show goes wonky again. :open_mouth:
@Simgirl and @Stormkeep Thank you for the prompt reply. I'm off to make the switch! - If you replace the lot with the new house while in build mode on the lot everything in your household inventory is safe and will still be there. You can move all of those things into household inventory before replacing the House. I should have been more explicit that this is the thing I forgot to do once (didn't move things to household inventory).
I don't know if the same is true if you do it from the Manage Worlds overview though.
Another way to save things is to move everything you want saved into one room and save the room to your gallery. "Stormkeep;c-18036289" wrote:

Yes, I'm sure the plantains can be saved in household inventory. If you can't get the accolades and trophies into the household inventory, see if you can move them into the cardboard box storage thingy - that will take some stuff that the treasure chest and other storage boxes won't take. You might be able to move the whole box into the household inventory, but I'm not sure that you have to - I think you'll find everything in storage places on the new lot (even your leftovers in the fridge).
You can't move anything from Manage Worlds into the household inventory, however - I've tried that one :)- GalacticGal4 years agoLegendI cannot move the Accolades. I know I have tried. He had to leave his first five at his parents' home when he went to University. I wasn't aware I had to perform the switch while in build/buy mode, but instinctively I did so. I was surprised to find things in the household inventory. I tried to have him grab the Plantain tree, but it wouldn't budge. I may roll back a save, as he lost all of his Fabergé Eggs, too. He had at least thirteen of them. I had no clue things had to go into the Household Inventory, so I will be certain to place them there this time around. I also have to 'fix' the new house. I woke up this morning realizing there was a fundamental flaw in the Architect's plan. There is a staircase from the main floor up to the master sure, but the only door into the room is from said staircase. What if you are already upstairs? So, I had another look, with a magnifying glass to see just where I translated the plans wrong. For once, it's not me! LOL I have already noodled with the plans to make them more Sim-friendly. I'm also wondering how in RL one can get across the chasm of the staircase to the only door to that room? It's one thing to try to keep the children out, but the Master and his wife, too? :open_mouth:
Thank you, All of you for your help in this matter. Wish me luck! - Simmerville4 years agoLegendIf those Accolades are the golden trophies, I'm sure you can place them on a surface, then delete or move-to-household-directory the surface and trophies will follow separately. I never tried though, but it works that way with most other on-a-surface things.
- moderateosprey4 years agoSeasoned AceI always do what @Stormkeep suggested. Create a room and move everything like that into it and save the room. Then load the room in the new lot.

The problem with that is often you can't download it onto your lot. But I did pull things into the Household Inventory and it worked. I even pulled the fireplaces in total that were adorned with his Accolades. I pulled the glass shelving unit with the Eggs. Long and the short of it, Erik's personal inventory is still intact and so are his tracts that I swept into the household inventory. I was able to move the plants there, too.
All I can say is YES, YES, YES! I am happy beyond words. :) Also, I fixed the Architect's error, to boot. LOL Can't jump over the staircase to get to the only door into the Master Suite.
Thank you, All, once again!"Simmerville;c-18036573" wrote:

No, you can't move them. I generally place them on the mantle of a fireplace or a set of shelves. Once there, you cannot move those puppies for love or money. Now, admittedly, this was an attempt to place them into my Sim's personal inventory, since he was moving on to Uni. I have found out today, that I can place the object they are sitting on, and in fact just the trophies into the Household Inventory. So, I learned something new today. So very grateful for all of the helpful suggestions and to my finding out which worked for me. :)
Smiling so hard my cheeks ache! - GalacticGal4 years agoLegendJust a Quick FYI: Do NOT try to put things into your Sims' personal inventory. This does NOT work. In the save I used; Erik lost all fifteen of his Fabergé Eggs. (They call them decorated eggs in the game.) Nor could I put any of his mature crops into his Personal Inventory. This was my error. Happily, I do the Save As … with every gaming session, which enabled me to roll back to the prior save and essentially try it again. This time everything I needed to keep went into the Household Inventory, Eggs, Trophies, Tracts, Plants and Trunks. The eggs were separated from the shelf, which was fine, and the trophies were all lumped together in a stack, also fine.
