- The birthday is already planned and usually I just go with the flow as they age but I'm thinking of doing some planning this time.
The quadruplets are gonna be children soon so it's time to move her forward. And with having to manage 4 toddlers and a child, I've actually had to plan out days so no one got over stressed and no toddler got left behind.
So yeah, planning will be big with this family. I'm just looking for inspiration on how to do it. - crocobauraSeasoned AceWell, she will go to highschool, the children will be in school also, there is not much to plan. If she doesn't already, now it's time to give her her own room, with a sneak out window.
- mightyspritesimsRising HotshotI like rolling randomly for 3 choices of aspiration and going with the one that feels most right out of the 3. Often it's something I didn't think of, because of the randomness.

Actually, yeah I know how the teen years work but I'm wondering more about her future as any dad I think would. What do I want her to be when she grows up? Where does her train goes when it leaves my station? That sort of thing.
So I was wondering how others plan out their children's lives for them in the game.
Like what do you look for in the child's traits? How much do you take their upbringing into consideration? Do they follow a parent's footsteps? How do you do it?- GalacticGalSeasoned Ace

What skills does she have? Is she creative? Does she like to garden, or at least talk to the plants? Is she eager to help cook? Observe what she does and she'll tell you by what holds her interests, much like a child in real life will. Help her find her strong skill, which hopefully aligns with her passion. If all else fails, randomize the traits and pick what feels correct. ;) Don't worry, worrying will give you lines on your forehead. There is no way to win this game, just as surely there is no way to lose. Relax, and have some fun with it. Do you want her to be a problem child? - crocobauraSeasoned Ace

Does anyone do it differently?
Like GalacticGal said, you need to look at her skills, her traits, likes, and see if there is something there that has potential to develop into something more, like a hobby could develop into a career. And very often I like to take cues from my sim's environment and other sims they meet and come up with a story for them. And I don't plan too far in advance for them, because like I said, I like to take cues from what happens with them during gameplay. I like to give my sims unique careers and hobbies, likes, etc. so when I change households they seem different enough from my other sims. Like I have two sims who live in San Myshuno, one lives in the fashion district , works in retail and will eventually own a clothes shop and become a style influencer. She's outdoorsy and likes to party. The other one lives in Spice District and works as a Home Decorator with photography as a hobby and a she's a Star Wars fan and a kleptomaniac. They both live a city life, with outings to cafes, nightclubs, festivals, they buy their vegetables and fish, etc. I also like to watch their wants, sometimes they want something unexpected that you didn't think of but that might make a good change of pace or direction for their storyline. - A lot of good ideas from you both. I've always just put them in careers and lives I wanted. So hearing how you do it, I can see that it makes more sense!
On a side note, I just aged up the quadruplets and as I was fixing their clothes to keep their snobbish celebritist mom from disowning them, I found out that our youngest son is deaf.
For some reason, this really affected me. I've never dealt with deafness at such a young age in my real life family so never really gave it much thought. However, seeing him standing there smile while waiting for me to choose his clothes just like the other kids did, really touched me. - Idk I feel like as I play multiple households I just end up coming up with connections between certain sims and stories
premades timelines kind of influence which sims they're gonna socialize with as teen since I don't make many new sims other than born in game babies really
I also get inspired by exploring certain gameplay I don't often explore or have not gotten to yet whenever I have new sim without goals
and I also have some storylines in mind that just don't have main character yet so I apply those where i feel it fits - NateWhiplashSeasoned VanguardTeenagers are the youngest I have in my game. But before I even create them, the game plan is always the same; flunk out of school and then hang out at the local bars
