My Dream
Forgive me, I don't know where to post this
I had a strange night to say the least. I have never in all of my life had a dream about a game. But for some reason, my brain decided to try and come up with a "family" concept for some type of generations expansion. I in no way shape or form have any idea if this would ever work (since this is the fantasy of my mind) - but I wanted to type it all out here and have you make fun of my brain lol
So, in my dream you could bring up the family tree (pressing Y or on the panel in live mode) and there would be little "+" signs next to each sim listed. If you click on the "+", a new gray box would appear (without a sim's face) and you could click it to add a new character.
You wanted Grandma to have a sister? You could create a new great aunt to your family tree. You wanted a new uncle? You could add him. You could choose if the sim was alive or deceased and it had the option to add them to your household or just let them be a townie. In my dream, there was also a way to add the game-generated townies into your family tree if you didn't want to create your own.
I don't remember many details, but there was also a "clan" function that you could implement. I suppose it would be more suitable for the Goths or the Landgraabs. So let's say you had your sim get married - the bride or groom could join *your* clan (or vice versa) and I guess "lose" their original family tree. I'm not sure how this would even work
But other fun things like family parties, family get-togethers, and other family functions would be available.
Your sim might get a call from grandma/mom asking when you're going to get married or have children.
If grandma is getting up in age, you may have to start sucking up to get on her will
etc.
