My Sidhe Sim...
Ok. EA REALLY needs to create fae/faerie sims for The Sims 4. I just needed to vent that, first and foremost.
Now, onto the point of this post which all things considered thus far, might become a string about this Sim of mine and her descendants...(If I've stuck this post in the wrong place, moderators please please PLEASE let me know where you move it to, if it has to be moved to a different board here somewhere!)
So, AS there are no fae/faerie Sims (YET), I created a Magic User Sim with pointed ears (Are pointed ears in the game now, or did I get them from a mod? I can't remember. I think they're in the game now though?). She's a Sidhe (A type of fae that look a lot like elves) and she left the realm of Faerie behind (For reasons I had yet to decide on at the time of CAS, and figured would come out in her story later (Which they just did!), and traveled to the "Normal" Sim realm, settling on the plot of land (64X64, kicked out the family that lived there initially and bulldozed the lot (I normally keep the lot, it's a great one! I believe it's called "Old Mill Hill ") in Henford-On-Bagley.
The land is, and will be for a whole Sim year while she slowly builds up a "Normal Sim" identity, Off The Grid. So she's gardening and will probably fish too (It's also great fertilizer for the garden!) for sustenance. Perhaps I'll have her get some chickens and a cow as well.
Well, I wasn't going to allow her to use any Magic for at least the first Sim year as well ( "Backlash" effect from having to leave the World of the Fae, completely). But I wanted her to have a wand, perhaps a familiar orb and some magical tomes maybe some spell components from home, that she brought with her. So I used her Glimmerstone to travel to the Realm of Magic, and went to Caster's Alley. And BAM! The first shop past the portal that leads there, where wands, familiar orbs and magical tomes are sold? THAT'S where I got the inspiration for why my Sim left the World of the Fae behind! She's a Seelie (Good fae) that had struggled to survive in a Unseelie (Bad or "mischief" fae) family! A powerful, influential family (Perhaps the ruling family of the Unseelie Court, I've not decided on that yet). So she ran away, and to escape had to leave the World of the Fae behind completely. Perhaps she even faked her own death in order to throw her family off her trail. I've not yet decided that, either, though it certainly would make things more interesting as, sooner or later, they're going to find out where she is...*BUM BUM BUM! Insert dramatic music here, LOL*
And what, pray tell, led to me getting all this inspiration from that shop? Why the list of things you could buy from it. The list follows, and I'm not making any of this up!
Bone Wand
Familiar Orb of the Hex Doll
Familiar Orb of the Skull
Familiar Orb of the Snub-Nosed Leaf Bat
Magician's Wand
Tome of Inferniate
Tome of Morphiate
Tome of Necrocall
Wand of the Sylvan Forest
(There might have been one other wand type in there too, that I don't recall now, but I don't think so)
Uh....Yeah! From that list (And each item's even more interesting description which I'm not going to try to out here for each one but YEAH!) alone, I knew that was a Seelie who had come from an UnSeelie family! Of course I got her the Wand of the Sylvan Forest. And I got her one of each of the familiar orbs and magical tomes, though she'll never use them (As I've decided they're all UnSeelie in nature). Then it was on to get her a magical broom (Classic Wood Broom, nothing unusual there except that uh, the bristles part of the broom is/are...Pink? Never seen that before, go figure!). And then I went to look at the spell components shop. Nothing really unusual there, except for "Death Metal" (No, not the music genre, an actual in Sims 4 game metal type). Yeah, definitely UnSeelie there, too! Got her one of those as well, not that she'll use it for anything, but it's a piece of home, a "Lodestone" I'm saying, which will be passed down fro her to her descendants who will all grow up in the "Normal Sims" world...
...Or WILL they!?! (*Eyeballs that world's shiny blank NewCrest world area, thoughtfully*)
Soooo...She's on Wednesday of her first week (Spring) in the "Normal" Sims world. For this save, the only other Supernatural Sims I have in game are Vampires. Should be interesting when she meets her first evil one! They'll be all friendly, because (Due to the fact she carries the piece of Death Metal around with her everywhere) she'll have an "Evil Aura" about her as well. Only to find out that she's good, instead! I took her out to grab some fruits, vegetables and herbs from the vendor stalls in Henford_On-Bagley and in San Myshio (SP?). But other than that and her trip to the Magic Realm, the only place she's been so far is the library in Willow Creek so I could order some upgrade parts from one of the computers there (As you cant order upgrade parts from the phone, which is stupid, mutter mutter mutter). But she's a loner Sim (Had to be! Plus she didn't want to associate too much with any of her UnSeelie family or peers growing up), so with the few contacts she's made just from going out briefly, she'll be fine with a bit of chatting on the phone sometime (When her calls don't drop from living Off The Grid! *LOL*).
And...That's what I've got so far.
Before anyone tells me I should make this into a story to share, thank you, truly, but while I DO tell Sims stories in my head as I play them, I'm no good at picture taking in the Sims 4 and I'm also no good at later going back and adding captions to each picture...
...And then there's uploading the pictures and the captions and finding a website that will let you show them all in any sort of good story progression like format, and...Bleh, you get the picture!
But...I sometimes get a kick out of reading other people's inspirational stories that they've gotten from/while in game. So I thought I'd share this one of mine. If you read the whole post, then congratulations and thank you! I'll give you a "Like", if you post a reply!
