My sim is dazed and won't snap out of it

My sim was electrocuted and became dazed and died twice after tinkering with electronics for his science career. I used MCCC to revive him, (pleading with the grim reaper didn't work at all), but now he has a dazed purple color and expression, but no moodlet for it and the moodlet cheats don't work. How do I get this off?
He can't successfully propose to his pregnant girlfriend if he's dazed. Sleeping it off doesn't do anything.

I didn't know they could die from it if I kept having him tinker. If I had known I wouldn't have done it. If I knew another way for him to have scientific breakthroughs I would have him do them.

Please help.

  • Not sure how you can get rid of the dazed effect but there are a few ways to get breakthroughs for future reference. Taking a thoughtful shower, using the observatory and playing chess are a few ways. Using the robot inventor brainstorm interaction and the analyser as well help. When they need breakthroughs look for interactions with a lightbulb next to them.

Have you tried leaving the lot or saving and quitting then restarting your game? If you change the mood by MCC, it'll stick to that mood for a while, and won't have a moodlet attached. You can always change it with MCC, but it'll always go to the highest rate for the emotion, so your sim could die from it by emotional deaths. (Dependent of the emotion really)

One of my favorite ways for breakthroughs is gardening. Having a big garden helps, since they'll get a few breakthroughs purely tending to their plants. High gardening skill with scientist works very well.
  • Well if you don't mind cheating a bit, then give him some of those points for the potions and special traits, use with Testingcheats True, on, then punch in Sims.Give_Satisfaction_Points and then the number of points you want, I would go with at least 20000, I think the Moodlet potion is 10000 at least, have him drink that, and it should turn him back to normal! Hope this helps!
  • Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll try them out. I've had get to work for a while, but this is the second time I've played with the scientist career since it came out.
  • Good news. I just went back into this household and the dazed issue is gone.
I know now that I will not be having him tinker on electronics anymore. At least, not without maxing out the handiness skill first. I'm going to set up a garden for this household (today is Thanksgiving here and right now I'm thankful for the buy debug cheat) I'm also going to have him play chess with his girlfriend and, in the future, with his children (he's hoping they'll follow in his footsteps) he's just starting out so I can't use any of the inventions yet but I will try the thoughtful shower one when I get the chance.
  • @simsgirl542, it's safe to tinker electronics normally...just stop once you get zapped once until the moodlet for it clears. It's getting zapped once you already have the moodlet for being zapped that is a killer.
