My sims attract stray dogs...

Ever since I started a new family, they started off having three stray dogs visit my sim and one of my sims spend part of their time giving them food and playing with them until they leave. I thought this was a one time thing but then they come around again. I do not have a problem with it, I recently just adopted one I thought was nice. Then one new one starts coming with the rest of the same group of dogs, every day. Is this normal or do they stop and go away eventually? I never had this happen before, lol. My sims are busy so I don’t think they can entertain them everyday, unfortunately and it’s like the game WANTS me to adopt them all.

  • It would be neat if that was intentional game design since it's pretty realistic.
  • I have no idea how the game decides which sims do walk-bys and stop-bys, but the first generation of my current game it was the same. My main sim was always going out to play with the dogs and cats that wandered by. 2nd generation, the family moved to the city, and you don't see strays there.

I do think you don't get them in all neighborhoods without mods, because Bienchen has mods just to add them to all the neighborhoods. You playing in Brindleton Bay?
  • Okay, I actually figured it out today and since I have been playing Sims nonstop lately, I did not notice but the lot that my sims are in, the house actually has a “dog playground” trait or something similar to that which explains all the strays that has been coming. I’m a fool... :D and no, they are not living in Brindleton Bay.
  • hahaah, well...yah, the lot trait will do that in any neighborhood. That's too funny you forgot you had that lot trait.

Has me curious how the lot trait works if you use it in the city, seeing as apartments don't have yards. Maybe it is disabled for apartments? I never paid attention.
