It does open up a whole slew of ideas and gameplay opportunities should they continue with the feature with future content.
I just wish expansions actually expanded on existing gameplay and not just the base game.

But do the same thing over and over and over in background? No, that is just plain annoying. I understand the idea of them but they are just executed terribly. All is not lost to me with them though. It simply requires the developers to give them a bit of an overhaul and tweak the behaviors. For example, a plan such as Foodies United should have your sim randomly have neighbors give them a new recipe or sometimes stop by and give them a completed food dish as a gift. The Creative Arts one could have sims randomly set up an easel somewhere in the neighborhood and paint. No need to have them do the idles with clay just to show that is the one active. You could see them paint it and then click it and buy it if you want. Actually, going along my foodie plan idea, there could be random chance of a sim coming up to you and giving you some artsy thing they made as a gift OR even offer to sell you a painting or something. Now those would be pleasant neighborhood action plans and make a huge difference in the game in a positive way to me!
