Need a way to spend money

It'd be interesting to get random chance and occurrence like you would over the phone like in sims 1 and 2. Gaining money due to a prize or something or just losing money. Kinda miss that with chance cards with jobs like being able to lose skill points and such.

Maybe make a property for your sim or any kids that get old enough to move out and give them a chunk of money to buy or build their home? I actually installed a mod where it'd charge my sim for visiting certain lots much like a entrance fee.

Or you can donate money if your feeling charitable :V

It's times like that I wish my Sims could own multiple properties & businesses and rebuild everything from the ground up.

Slowly acquire every lot until you own the entire city and remake it how you see fit without all these annoying building restrictions.
Or at least have the Politics Career actually enact policies that affect sim's like force everyone to wear yellow. Then have it that policies require large amount of funds to enact them.

I don't have terribly wealthy Sims, tbh, lol. Once they get a few hundred thousand in their bank account, I feel like they've basically 'won' in their life. I don't need most Sims to have millions unless they're specifically rich, snobby Sims, in which case they want to be floating in ungodly amounts of cash, lol.

You could use the money cheat and say that they have big ol' tax bills to adjust their cash flow or make other story lines to fit that kind of scenario.

Use your extra cash to buy gold bars and stash it away in a hidden vault. Gold is the future!!! :smiley: :wink:

I tend to let them take longer vacations (which really aren't long because I get bored fast), go out to eat more in large groups so the meal is more expensive. I don't think I have any super rich sims. $200K in the game is like $2M, it can go a long way. I play the same houses so the wealth is passed down, but I tend to only have one spouse work outside the home, and then I may move relatives into a larger home for storyline purposes, etc... The wealth gets spread out overtime.

Buy a restaurant or retail lot!

Hoarding violins and high-quality harvestables to raise bills if you play vanilla, or modify bills with a mod. Or just nuke your savings with money cheats.

I ran into trouble since I tend to make a lot of money quickly due to my habit of quickly finishing off the fortune aspirations and Frugal saving me all the money in the world. :sob: Since frugal stacks, it's a bit upsetting that I don't pay more than 36k for a mansion. But I'm just going to wait till the frugal sims in the house die and the children drown in debt... Over time, of course. :/
I wish there were more expensive things to blow money on in TS4 as well. Taking an obnoxious amount of vacations and staying at an expensive cabin isn't really taking away much money either. :(

You could buy expensive items and put them in your children's inventory and move them out to their own houses. You could decided on one kid, and move that kid out and take over their lives, leaving the rest of the family with all the wealthy. B)

Some of my favorite things to do is make my own chance occurrences. I have three jars on my desk.... One for kids, one to add money, and one to take away money. When I feel my game needs a push, I draw from one of the jars, whichever I feel like and use the money cheat accordingly. :p

Some are small things. "Teen earns a new makeover." or "Child sim gets surprise toy in mail." And things like, "Won bingo last night. +$200" or "Lost big at the casino, - $5000". :)

I've also just threw it in the story that Dad had a gambling problem and took all their money but 500 or failed to pay taxes and started over at 0. I've completely destroyed their homes, too, and they survived a tornado or hurricane. :s

Do you have the Whispering Wishing Well in your game? If so, purchase one and have your Sims squander money asking for wishes that won't really reap them much (no cash wishes, for instance) so that the money spent is simply gone. Like gambling.
